Sample Child Protection & Safeguarding Policy
This sample policy and the attached appendices have been written to support provider compliance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Your Local Safeguarding Partners might have a ‘model’ policy they require you to adopt. This policy from Childcare.co.uk has been written for those practitioners who have asked for support to write their own policy – it is not intended to replace Local Authority requirements.
Important Disclaimer
A Safeguarding Policy and Procedure does not keep children safe.
Early years providers must be vigilant to threats against children and must always prepared to think the unthinkable, using professional curiosity and challenge to keep children safe.
All policies should be working documents, updated as new child protection threats appear or legislation and statutory guidance is updated.
