We have two boys who went to Lucia’s setting. One at the age of 12 months and the other one at the age of 9 months, both on full time basis until they went to Reception. I cannot recommend Lucia and her team highly enough. Over the years all 3 of them - Lucia, Anna and Shauna were a key worker for the boys at some stage and we could not be happier. In fact neither of our boys went to a nursery, as we felt they got better attention and learnt more at Lucia’s than they would have done at a nursery. Flexibility, friendliness, updates, enthusiasm, app to check on a progress of your child, lovely cooked meals on daily basis, and not forgetting a big smile on Lucia’s face every day made our boys very happy and therefore made us very happy parents indeed. If I had another child I would know exactly which setting to go to - Lucia’s.

Our daughter Edith spent 3 months with Lucia as her first experience of childcare and she had a wonderful time. She was always excited to arrive and clearly loved her caseworkers. Lucia and her team always kept us up to speed with how our daughter was developing, we particularly liked the app through which we could see photo and video updates. She ate well, slept well and learnt a lot in a relatively short time. Highly recommended!

We found Lucia on childcare.co.uk and after reading the very positive reviews went to meet her and were struck right away by her warm friendly manner, and her professional and considered approach to what she does – and most importantly our daughter Jean took a shine to her from the start! Also the childcare setting was fantastic - a welcoming, secure and comfortable home full of colour, educational toys and arts and crafts, and a garden for outdoor play.
In her year and a half of being looked after by Lucia and her assistants Shauna and Anna, our daughter has really thrived - the structured, fun environment that Lucia provides (and the delicious food) has contributed so much to the bright social and confident (and hungry!) girl that she has become. By interacting with a smaller group of children from a range of ages, Jean advanced at a rapid pace - we’re sure her skills and vocabulary progressed faster than they would have done had she been in a large nursery class with children all the same age. Lucy follows the early years curriculum and there is a perfect balance between play and learning in the day to day activities there - looking through Jean’s updates/milestones book put together by Shauna we can see how enriching and enjoyable the environment has been for her.
We feel so lucky to have found Lucia, Shauna and Anna - with both my partner’s and my families living in Canada, we’re grateful to have had our daughter looked after by such loving, funny, skilled and responsible people who genuinely care about her wellbeing and development. They have filled the extended family role - when our son was being born, Lucia was there to take care of Jean, and Shauna who was her key worker has such a lovely bond with her. We will be staying in touch even though Jean has now moved on to preschool.
Having our daughter looked after by Lucia was easily the best decision we have made as parents. We want our son to have the same brilliant foundation as his sister - when he’s old enough we plan to send him to Lucy as well so she can work her magic again! Many thanks and much love, Sue + Dan

Lucy looked after our son from 7 months old when he started going part time. Through all his early years he came a several days a week right up until he started primary school. We are so lucky to have found such a lovely homely environment for him. It's a great mix of a caring homelike setting, but with enough children there that they look like a like gang of friends playing together all the time. I alwasy felt my son was receiving lots of individual attention, but also getting a good dose of social interaction with group of kids of mixed ages that prepared him for school. It was a happy, loving environment for him, where he was taught, played, made friends and had a lovely time. I couldn't have asked for more, and we are grateful to Lucy and her lovely team (Anna and Shauna) for the years they were part of our son's life.

I cannot rate / recommend Lucia and her team highly enough.
My DD has been attending Lucia's facility since she was 13 months and has loved every minute.
She has developed in every sense of the word and Lucia has cared for her like she is her own daughter.
As a first time, super anxious and over protective mother, I cannot express my gratitude, admiration and thanks to Lucia, for providing the best, nurturing and safe environment for my most precious DD.
Please Gd I would send all of my kids only to Lucia!

My daughter and son have both been with Lucy over the past four years and now my son is about to start Reception, we as a family are choked to think we won't be seeing her, Shauna or Anna as often in future. The care they provide is beyond what either my husband or I expected of a child-minding setting. They not only provide a safe, stimulating and deliciously well fed environment for young children, but they also care deeply about the happiness and development of their charges. My kids have always felt hugely valued with Lucy and her team and there is a real sense of affection between all parties. Choosing a childminder is hard: you would give your life for your children and can't hand them over without a leap of faith. After four years with Lucy and the girls in her team, I can honestly say you can trust them absolutely to honour their commitment to your children. They are simply brilliant and we will miss them enormously.

I agree with everything the other parents have written about Lucia's, so I'll share the reasons why I chose Lucia to take care of my son (from 1 year's old- 3 and half). Lucia and the girls surpassed our expectations.
- Lucia is responsible and professional, yet has an incredibly warm, friendly, and fun personality. You feel like she loves and cares for your child as much as you.
- Her home environment is wonderfully nurturing, with great indoor and outdoor space with lots of toys and activities to keep your child active and entertained all day.
- The smell of healthy home-cooked food wafts from the door (everyday I would be jealous)
- A variety of children meant that my son became socialised very quickly at a young age, able to interact well with younger and older children
- It is a happy home, I knew my son would have fun and enjoy his time there. A great transition for a 1 year old.
I am incredibly sad that we left as my son moved onto a nursery recently. Without a doubt I wish he could have stayed. We all miss Lucia's! Good carers are rate to come by - like Gold dust. We all absolutely adore Lucia.

When my son 1st started his school, Lucia and her lovely staffs used to pick him up and have him in their lovely place. It is in a wonderful setting, and every staff were all nice and very helpful. I highly recommend :)

My son Jacob was at Lucy's for almost a year from the age of 2 years. Lucy is a fantastic childminder, who truly loves and cares for the children. She was able to make Jacob comfortable in his new setting very quickly. He also went through many changes while in Lucy's care. We moved recently into the area, potty training and the arrival of a new sibling. She was helpful and considerate of how these things might be impacting him.
Jacob was always happy and had a fun, activity filled day when I picked him up. The day is nicely structured, with some kind of arts and crafts on most days, outside time etc. She is also, unlike a nursery, able to adapt for the children. For instance if Jacob really wanted to eat peppers at lunchtime she is happy to give him some even if not on the dinner plan or if he enjoyed playing an activity she would invest in it.
Jacob loves Lucy and her team to the point that he considers them as family. What more can I say!
The only reason Jacob no longer goes there is that he got a place in preschool, however once he is in full time school, I plan to send my youngest to Lucy. Thanks Lucy for everything!

Lucia looked after our daughter from 1yr to 16 months for four days a week and we couldn't have wished for a better start for her. We always felt she was in a warm, caring, safe and fun environment. Her speech developed beautifully, her eating was fantastic (having been a little tricky in this department before), she made friends and enjoyed being there very, very much.
Lucia's house is wonderful, it's a bit like a mini nursery but with the added benefit of a more personal, home environment. She's got plenty of toys, great activities, theme weeks and a wonderful garden for the children to play in. Lucia cooks fresh meals everyday to provide a healthy and varied diet.
Lucia was always very flexible when we had to pick up Emily late or put her in on a Friday due to work commitments, which was hugely helpful.
Her assistants also deserve a mention for their careful, caring attention.
If you are able to get a place with Lucia then you are lucky and should take it. Our daughter would still be there if we hadn't moved too far away for it to be feasible. Luckily we have been given a beautiful book with lots of pictures of her development and her little friends which makes a great memory for her to look at.
