When we found Jane, our son had been attending a nursery but it was not the right setting for us. We started investigating other options and found various contacts of childminders. Jane was the last one we met, and we instantly felt a connection. From what she was describing of her approach and from her warm welcome, we knew it was the place we were looking for … and it has exceeded our expectations!
Jane and her team are amazing with children, we can see and feel that our son is loved, cared for, entertained, educated, and he enjoys going there so much!
They take him and the other children to a lot of various activities like play groups, farm, walk by the river, etc, and they also do various activities adapted to their age, like in the case of our son who is almost 2 years old : art/ craft/ cooking activities, playing musical instruments, singing, reading stories, learning shapes, how to count, days of the week, etc. He is also benefiting from activities done with older kids. We are also so happy that she has got a proper garden with toys that our son can enjoy during sunny days and this makes such a difference.
Our son interacts with children who are his age, a bit younger and a bit older, so he gets a wide array of interactions that also foster his development.
We were also looking for a multicultural environment, and this could not be better! We speak French, Spanish and English at home and at Jane’s he is spoken to in English and Spanish and plays with children from a wide range of nationalities.
Every day we can see progress, and what we appreciate very much is that Jane sends us short videos / photos of his activities, so in addition to the daily diary book we maintain with her, we have also visuals, for instance pictures of him feeding the ducks, watering the plants (in Summer), playing with cars in the garden, cuddling the dog, and more recently we received a video of him counting from 1 to 10 in English, in front of one of Jane’s numerical boards. This is priceless!
One of the other benefits that we noticed since our son started going to Jane’s (it’s been 7 months now) is that he has now settled into a rhythm of eating at regular times, sleeping for a nap at regular times and because he is so active (mentally and physically) during the day, he got recently into a sleeping pattern at night whereby he sleeps through the night most of the times, which is such life changing for us as he used to wake up several times during the night.
What was also of paramount importance for us was that he would be fed home-made, healthy food and snacks, which is the case. Jane is very open to our specific requirements, and makes sure they are fulfilled, we trust her very much.
We could go on and on about all the benefits of her childminding settings, we could not have found a better place and better people to look after and love our baby boy and we would without hesitation warmly recommend her to all parents!
