My Summary
About Me
I was originally a teacher and have experience with all ages. I love writing and reading, walking and exploring.
I am happily married to the man that was my childhood best friend. I have raised two beautiful daughters that have both completed their Honours degrees. My eldest has recently relocated from London to Braintree and works in accounting and my youngest works in HR in Houses of Parliament. An update with my daughters is that my eldest is due to have her first baby in a month and my youngest has a 2 year old.
My Experience
I love writing and reading and have completed four novels. I also wrote Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Manuals that were adapted to Primary School and taught computer skills to children integrated together with assignments and projects they were working on in school.
After completing my A-Levels in English, Biology, History and Accounting I completed a three year - level - QVC that included Childcare, Admin, Health and Education.
I worked initially with 3-4 year olds, but my teaching included caring for children from birth - 6 years old. I had five years of training behind me when I was employed by the Red Cross Nursery.
I worked at Red Cross Nursery as the Head Mistress. I supervised staff, parents, medication, menus and curriculum for the children. We catered for children from birth - six years old. If a teacher was sick I would take her class and care for babies under her care.
I then worked as a Director for a computer educational training company. Once again I taught, headed up staff, wrote the curriculum, and generally any other duties relating to running a company. I worked at Computer Wonder-Kidz for twelve years eventually as a Director.
In the last couple of years I have helped out an elderly neighbour that moved and was available for any duties she required. I also worked with Microsoft for her. I also researched and wrote a history manuscript for Secondary Schools in S.A.
I have always enjoyed working with children of all ages. I believe in a nurturing approach with routine, having fun while learning, stimulating play and a firm quiet approach.
I have been working as a nanny for a wonderful family in Danbury for many years now. I enjoyed every moment with my charge, loving her, being firm by applying kind discipline, having fun, challenging her to exceed her own expectations, setting bath time and bedtime routines. She surprised me everyday as I do myself. She is constantly learning from me as I am from her. It is not often that someone can declare with such conviction that they love their job. I love mine and I am totally in love with my charge. I will seriously miss her but she is now a very capable confident young lady who is sailing through her sixth year and her mum has taken a sabbatical for a while.
I do have references from my recent job as well as past. One sentence that my delightful employer used to describe me was 'a modern day Mary Poppins'.
I have worked for several other families over the years including a family with twins and a 12 year old, a 4 year old until her mum got day time work instead of night-time, a delightful family with a 9 year old girl and her 11 year old brother.
As in the case with the older children my role does change and is focused on extra mural activities and homework.
I have worked for several other families with children of varying age ranges.
I’m not currently looking for work as if the latest family I worked for need me I will always be there for them. I must be honest when I say they still have all my loyalty and if they need me I will do everything to help out.
I can perhaps help out with a couple of hours in a day if you live close to me in Braintree, or if I can walk or I have our shared car for the day. My husband works from home but also has to attend site meetings. This offer would be generally if you are stuck and need help.
My rate is £16 per hour.

Mary Anne has been a blessing with my daughter and has helped her adjust during a busy and changing time in our lives.
My daughter has become very fond of her, and always looks forward to the time they spend together.
She has been very flexible in her working hours and has never complained about the odd hours that I work.
She has been very supportive and helps where she can around the house and is very encouraging to my daughter with her learning.
Mary Anne provided a top class childcare service to my 3 children while our regular nanny was on maternity leave.
Mary Anne is so kind and gentle and will always go above and beyond to help out with anything that is asked of her.
She will always research fun things to do with the children and isn't afraid to get stuck in and get involved.
She is lovely to have around and is very supportive. You would be lucky to have her work for you.

This nanny is working for me presently. All I can say is that she is a modern-day Mary Poppins. She is a member of our family and has been my absolute Rock during some tough times- always there for my daughter and I way above and beyond the call of duty. Her family is wonderful , her style of childcare living but firm. I come home every night to a secure happy fed bathed educated sleeping child! She's Mary Poppins.
With heavy hearts I'm moving away possibly so this amazing woman might be looking for another family. Trust me; she is the VERY best.
