Agreed to start and cancelled the night before!

I meet with Nuriya and she did a trial day, which went well by her account! She was aware that I had two other candidates for the position. We talked and agreed she would start, we spoke numerous times leading up to her start day, arranging things such as working days, payment dates etc (payment which she asked to be paid in advance, which of course wasn’t the agreement. Then weekly payments which again wasn’t the agreement, the position was advertised as monthly pay).

We came to an agreement on everything, then I told her I would let the other two candidates know the position was gone. She was ecstatic, I let the candidates know. Two days later at 12.30am, I received a WhatsApp from Nuriya the day before she was due to start, saying “I’ve changed my mind”. When I went to respond she blocked me.

I haven’t heard from her since, never received an apology and lost a lot of income as I was due to start a new contract (which she knew)!!!

Very disappointing, unkind and unprofessional.
