Reluctant to have references checked
After having a phone call and setting up a time to meet, the nanny was asked to email me her references. She sent several; they were brief and sounded similar. After I said that I double check all employee references with phone calls, the nanny cancelled the meeting.

I am soorry to see that you have given me a negative review. The reason I cancelled the meeting was because I Irealised, after speaking with you, that the position was no right for me and I followed up with a ccourteous text thanking you and telling you that the offer was no right for me.
I am always willing to share my references and I have many excellent references from different families that I have babysat and nannied for, for which you are welcome to call them
