About Me
I offer friendly, safe and professional child care, in the comfort of my home.
I live with my husband,( we celebrated 30yrs of marriage in 2021). My adult children are Alex and Hannah and they have both left home now.
I have a dedicated ‘playroom’ where most of the children’s play takes place. I have a full range of age appropriate toys and equipment including; Books, crafts, construction, music, puzzles, IT and role play.
I have a large garden equipped with Sand and Water trays as well as ride ons and a toddler climbing frame. I also have football, basketball, cricket and tennis equipment. I have an outdoor playhouse
Babies and young Toddlers enjoy the lounge with its soft carpet and furniture. Here is where we play with my Teddy pile, have a quiet time with CBB’s and read a story together.
The master bedroom is where the cots are set up for small babies to sleep. I will always endeavour to follow your instructions when it comes to sleep time routines to allow continuity of care between home and Mandy's House. Toddlers and older children are able to rest or sleep in the comfort of the lounge.
At ‘Mandy’s House’ it’s ALL about having fun and staying safe. Everyone becomes part of the big family atmosphere and everyone cares about each other. We play and learn together, make music and dance together and most important we enjoy ourselves.
My Experience
I became an Ofsted registered Childminder in August 2000, when I initially cared for a number of school age children.
Over the years this has taken a natural change to caring for younger toddlers and babies. I can cafre for a maximum of 6 under 8s at any one time, including upto 3 under 5s. I additiona I have a small number of school age children who join us in the afternoons. There is a wonderful mix of both boys and girls, aged from 6months to 10 years, and everyone is encouraged to play and learn together.
I deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage and I understand about caring for the whole child. I tend to focus on a child's Personnal and Social skills as well as developing their Communication and Language skills. This, I believe underpins all future learning and development.
I am confident in my abilities to work with parents to offer the best care I can to their children. I value the trust a parent gives me when I take care of their child and will aim to establish a close and caring relationship.
I recently started a Baby and Toddler group with my Church in Carlton Rode, Norfolk where young children and their adults can join in play and learning together and benefit from a friendly support group.
My Qualifications
I have attended dozens of training courses over the last 22 years to compliment my natural maternal instincts and enhance my professional knowledge of child care including; Child Protection, First Aid, Child development, Special Educational Needs, Behaviour management, Children’s Diet, Speech and language development, Creative role play, Tiny Talk Sign language and many more.
My most recent achievements include;
Open University Bachelor of Arts (hons) Degree in Early Years.
Open University short course in Psychology,
British Sign Language Lvl 101,
GSCE Maths (A) and
GCSE English (A*).
My Availability
My ‘opening hours’ are 8am to 5pm all year round. (subject to family and seasonal holiday closures)
I take around 5 weeks holiday each year which is notified at the start of a new contract period. I am not normally open during the Christmas Holiday Period

My Fees
- Babysitting from £7.50 per hour
- Childminding from £4.50 per hour
My current basic hourly rate is £5.00 per child/per hour (valid till April 2023)
I am qualified to take the Early Years Funding for 2, 3 and 4 year olds, up to 30hrs/week*
I am registered for Governments 'Tax Free childcare'
