My Requirements
We require a native Spanish speaking nanny from March 2025 but we can wait for the right candidate. The child attends school until 3:30pm 5 days a week and therefore we require help with pick-up from school, as well as some evening babysitting, one or two days a week until 9pm.
The job entails 20h per week during term time, and extended hours (about 30h) during half term and holidays.
The position would suit a postgraduate student or a mature childminder. We encourage manners, respect and kindness in our home and are looking for a person who is committed to nurturing the child's education.
We are both full-time working parents and therefore this is a sole-charge role but this is not an extremely busy household. We keep things calm and have reasonable working hours. We do attend events in the evenings occasionally and require a mature, reliable, committed individual who desires a long-term position.
We are keen to welcome a soft-spoken, loving and bubbly addition to the family. The kid, Llorenç, has good established routines, is beyond loving and well spoken. Fun and interesting conversations to be had! Responsibilities include encouraging independent play, going to the park, preparing healthy meals, taking care of kid’s laundry and keeping the room and toys tidy, not by yourself but by encouraging him. The kid attends a couple of activities including Spanish and a swimming lesson per week (you do not need to jump in the pool with him).
It is essential to be a native Spanish speaker and have a reasonably good understanding of English. Main language to speak with him is Spanish but the father is British. Please note that the advert is in English purely because of the website's guidelines but only native Spanish speakers will be considered. This is a trilingual household: the toddler speaks Valencian with the mother, English with the father and Spanish with the nanny. May sound like chaos but it's absolutely fine.
Working hours:
3:30pm - Pick up from school, snack at the park if weather allows, attending some weekly activity, playdates or going straight home.
5:30pm Dinner
6pm Bath
7pm Book reading in bed
7:30pm Lights off
Cleanliness is important. We expect the person to be mindful and respectful of basic standards of cleanliness around the house. We try to be tidy and clean daily. We have a weekly cleaning worker so help around the house is not needed at all but if the child has gone to the park and played with sand, for example, the expectation is all sand needs to be brushed off before entering the house, shoes always taken off throughout the house, cooking and tidying after, etc.
