My 25 month old daughter has been cared for by Sharon since she was 9.5 months for 3 days a week. She was happy from day one, settling in well and getting to know the other two children there. I liked Sharon as soon as I met her, her house was clean and organised and she came across as a caring and friendly and genuine about wanting to provide quality childcare. Having 3 older children and grandchildren herself, it was a career choice rather than a lifestyle choice.
My daughter is thriving, she is confident and very happy and Sharon has been supportive of our routine and has adapted with us as Bay has grown. We receive an update on her day in a special note book, so we know if she has eaten and slept well and what activities they have done that day. My daughter looks forward to her days with Sharon and heads inside every morning without a backward glance. We are quite firm that Bay should have fresh food and fruit and no cakes, sweets and biscuits unless its a special occasion, Sharon has respected that and encourages good eating. She maintains a menu for the week which is kept on the wall. She does not provide food for under 1's.
Sharon covers the Early years curriculum with ease, there are posters and signs all around the room, a wonderful selection of toys and books which are kept clean and tidy and lots of time for reading, music, singing and craft. Sharon has invested in new decking and play area in her garden and also a rain cover so the children can still go outside for fresh air even in bad weather. They regularly go to the park nearby ( Upper Norwood) and local playgroups and enjoy special trips out occasionally to the library, Horniman museum and soft play areas.
If we have ever had any suggestions or questions, Sharon is happy to discuss, she also accepts childcare vouchers as payment.
Bay sees Sharon and the little boy there, as an extension of her family, she is happy, safe and loved, allowing my husband and I to go off to work without any worries.
