Hello, my name is Fanny, I am a mum and a child psychotherapist. I have two little ones: Elio who will be 6 in October 2024 and Gaia who 2 and a half. We have previously used this platform to look for baby sitters and part time nannies for Elio and have been really lucky and we have found truly wonderful people. Elio is now about to start primary school in August. Gaia attends nursery 2 days a week and hopefully in January 2025 will move to the nursery within Elio’s school, doing similar hours to him. Out lovely nanny, who has been with us for two years, will
leave in November. So we are now looking for a nanny for after school hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 3-5.30pm to look after both Elio and Gaia, starting approximately mid November, and continuing at least until the end of June 2025. The nanny would be expected to collect the kids from nursery/school and organise dinner activities either at home or at the library/park…
We are also potentially looking for someone who could do more hours for a month between mid November and Christmas, just with Gaia (mostly on Mondays and Thursday, but open to discussion)
We are an Italian family based in Stockbridge, minutes from the botanics and Inverleith park. Both of us are self employed, working full time but with quite a bit of flexibility.
We love travelling, reading and music. Elio is passionate about animals and dinosaurs and loves drawing. Gaia loves dancing, music and imaginative play.
It is essential that the nanny that will help us look after Elio and Gaia shares our views of child development and has a strong understanding of a children’s attachment needs and emotional development.
Requirements:
* available for after school hours from mid November (approximately)
* experience of looking after children under the age of 5
* familiarity with the principles of attachment theory and respectful parenting
* genuine passion for contributing to a child’s development
* playfulness and creativity
* PVG certificate, first aid training, references from previous/current employer
* interest in alternative educational approaches (such as Montessori, Reggio Emilia school…) that value a child’s intrinsic motivation to learning
