Warm, kind and wonderful childminder

I am so grateful to have found Mimi and Jay. Their patience, kindness and warmth is beyond comparison.
My eldest daughter attended from 7 months to 2.5y, and my second daughter started at 6 months and has been there for a year.
They have been taken on outings daily, have been supported in their curiosity and have done amazing crafting.
Both the girls have thrived with Mimi and Jay, and they really feel like family now.
I have not seen this level of care and compassionate kindness anywhere else and we feel that this was one of the best decisions we ever made for our children.

Amazing and supportive child minder

Our experience of sending my son to Rumena and Jays has been nothing short of outstanding. They really do go over and beyond for the children in their care. I was initially very anxious of sending him to a child minder at a young age but was pleasantly surprised how much my child settled in and has grown in confidence. Rumena and Jay put me at ease by communicating through apps, messages, pictures and videos of how he has settled and learning new things. I fully trust them with my son. They provide a variety of indoor/outdoor activities and prepare fresh homemade food everyday. My son looks forward to attending and he is showing interest in trying different food at home. I am really happy with their service and I highly recommend!!

A loving home-from-home

After searching through different childcare settings for our 2year old daughter , we found Mimi and Jay who were an absolute God-send!
Their home is such a calm and lovely setting, our daughter fit right in. Mimi and Jay were extremely support throughout the settling in period and took time to understand our daughters needs (and ours!).
Our daughters days were filled with lots of fun and engaging activities , trips to playgroup's, library, outdoor settings and much more!
Mimi and Jay’s daughter’s were so warm and inviting and accepting of everyone in their home and always made us feel welcomed.
Our daughter has food intolerances and mimi and jay also took care of that on a daily basis.

Mimi and jay are extremely knowledgeable and guided us through different phases of behaviour and development - always having ideas and suggestions on how to continue supporting our daughter’s development at home too.
Mimi and jay sent photos and updated the app with communication daily which was great to always be in the loop with what was happening in their day. Mimi and Jay followed a structured program of learning and included additional enriching activities and life skills such as teeth brushing and healthy eating for example.
We were sad to leave Mimi and Jay’s when our daughter transitioned to nursery school - but we are still in contact with them and their family and we still remember them so fondly.
We also loved getting to know the other children and their families who were just so lovely and kind. It has been a memorable time in our journey and we wish everyone well.

We would highly recommend Mimi and Jay to any family seeking kind and loving childcare settings.

Outstanding childminder

I sent my daughter to Rumena’s from age 1 until pre-school age 3.5. Our second daughter has started very recently age 11 months.

Our first daughter settled so quickly and thrived there. She made very close and special bonds with the other children who attended and is now sociable, articulate
and confident moving to preschool. We enjoyed Rumena’s daily observations about their friendship dynamics and development at pick up. She was always very communicative through whatsapp and the famly app, we received lots of wonderful photos.

We were so impressed by all the different activities they did at home and in their garden, as Rumena is extremely creative and energetic and has brilliant equipment and toys. We love the home away from home setting, the friendly cats, and the food provided is delicious and home cooked.

They also went on many many trips and adventures in the local area and further afield which the kids loved and learnt so much from, anything from the river and docks, children’s centres, park and picnics to the Christmas panto and Southend zoo! They bring a huge amount of energy and ambition to their work with children, and are incredibly caring, careful and attentive. We are so grateful to have found them.

Caring, Creative and Memorable Childcare

Our daughter attended Mimi and Jay’s setting for two wonderful years, starting when she was just one year old. From the very beginning, it was clear how loving, caring, and creative they both are. We always felt completely confident that she was in excellent hands, thanks to their nurturing approach and the updates we received daily, both at pick-up and through the Famly app.

Mimi and Jay ensured every day was filled with enriching activities, such as rhyme time, trips to the aquarium and the butterfly garden. They provided a well-rounded routine, including three nutritious meals a day, snacks in between, and even outdoor fun like splashing in the paddling pool during the summer.

Now almost four years old, our daughter still talks fondly about Mimi, Jay, their daughters (and cats!) and the friends she made there. We’re so grateful for the warm, supportive, and stimulating environment they created, which gave her such a fantastic start in life.

Love this childminder

Rumena previously looked after my son and we loved her so much that now she looks after my daughter 2 days a week. My daughter is so happy and looks forward to spending time with Rumena and her little friends. They do wonderful and creative activities and also visit many places. Rumena always sends pictures and let's us know what they've been up to.
We trust her 100% and highly recommend her to other parents.

Amazing child minder

We are privileged to employe Rumena as our childminder. She has been reliable, fun, loving and hard working since she had Our little girl from the age of one.

We have been extremely happy with the care our daughter has received, and the great progress he has made whilst in Rumena’s care. Rumenas’s home is always welcoming, clean and well organised and our daughter has great fun playing with all the toys available and with the other children in her care.

She provides a wide, fun range of activities including plenty of outdoor exercise. I know our daughter has recently enjoyed sand and water play, drawing and sticking, reading and puzzles as well as outings to the park, trips to feed the ducks and walks in the woods. Last month she decorated birthday card to give to her dad.

Rumena is a great communicator and has no trouble in gaining little ones confidence and therefore encouraging good behaviour and kindness and compassion to others, both skills which are important to us at home. When our daughter steps outside her boundaries she responds with firm but kind discipline explaining what we would like to see in terms which she understands she works with me to help maintain same discipline Ie: time out when needed. When she is hurt or feeling under the weather I know that she feels happy to be comforted by her and I am confident that she can administer either first aid or medication following all the correct procedures and completing the necessary records to ensure her health and safety.

I am also aware that Rumena ensures good personal hygiene in encouraging all the children to wash their hands before eating and after using the toilet as our daughter does this regularly at home without being told.

Rumena completes a diary detailing what Ayah has done each day. From this I have a complete picture of his whole day including what she has eaten, how long she has slept and all her activities including visiting the toilet and nappy changes. This helps me to feel involved with her care and that I can talk to her about his day I also get a mini briefing end of each day.

All in all I am thoroughly happy with the level of care our daughter receives and I’m certain that being in such a positive and happy environment is helping her develop into a confident and self assured little girl.

The most wonderful childminder

Wonderful Rumena looks after our 15 month old boy for four days a week and we couldn’t be happier with her care. Every day is different, full of fun and learning, and so much time is spent in the garden. My boy squeals with delight when I drop him off! Rumena is intuitive, warm, thoughtful, creative, perceptive, gentle and fun with our son. And she is brilliantly straight-talking and open with us, sending us updates and photos throughout the day. Her home is filled with every toy, tent and climbing frame a kid could dream of. I highly recommend her!

Good first experience with a childminder

This is my first experience with a childminder and so far baby and I are happy with Rumena and her home environment. For me it was a tough decision to whom I would leave my 6 month old, but I feel reassured with her also looking after her youngest at the same time, who is a good playmate and friend for my little one, plus seeing how well-mannered her older children have grown up to be. Apart from the required certificates and qualifications, Rumena has a good-sized home and garden for the children to play in and explore. She keeps me updated with the latest baby news via Whats App. And baby has even had her first trip to a local playgroup, which she enjoyed. With my baby being so young, there is often a lot to discuss, but Rumena seems to manage well and draws on her experience of being a mum of 3. If there was one thing I was apprehensive about, it was introducing the baby to a cat. But the baby has no fear like her mother (!) And I think that's a good thing. Overall, a positive first experience.

Very professional and reassuring

Me and my husband both work full time so when grandma went on holiday for 4 weeks, we had no one to collect my son after school. Rumena offers school pick up and after school care until we finished work. My son settled in quickly and was very comfortable with Rumena especially with her girls and family cat. He enjoyed the activities available and the outdoor space. Rumena was very professional and quick to provide updates and pictures while we were at work. My son has multiple allergies so has a strict diet, Rumena provided suitable filling snacks. Would highly recommend.
