Rana has been looking after our two boys, now aged 3 and 5, since last summer. She has done an absolutely incredible job during that time. It's such a hard time to be a nanny, especially with both parents working from home in a small flat! But Rana is such an easygoing presence, and she always comes brilliantly prepared with a set of activities for the day, which are super fun and help with the boys' development. (She's been instrumental in helping our eldest learn to read and write, for example.) She's also been terrific at helping the boys develop socially after a year of little exposure to other children. She does this educational and developmental stuff with a really light touch - the boys are always having fun with her at the same time. She's also great at imaginative play, and ensures they use up their (considerable) energy by getting out to the park or on a bike ride or on a nature walk. She also makes their lunch and tea and healthy snacks during the day, and is a master at making sure they eat vegetables. At the end of the day we'll have a chat about how things have gone, and she's always considered and thoughtful when describing what they've been up to. She's been (and continues to be) a complete life-saver for us - I can't recommend her highly enough.
