after school nanny review
Jude worked for us for 6 months and was employed as an after school nanny and holiday nanny, but also took on a small amount of household help. She left us when she moved to a different part of the country.
Jude has a very patient and calm approach. She has outstanding ability to approach conversations when our children were not behaving well or were not in control of their emotions with compassion. She’s able to make astute observations of what is happening and what could be triggering it – all while remaining in absolute control of her own emotions. She has an excellent emotional intelligence which she applied really well- and was exactly why we wanted to hire a nanny for our childcare.
She was very punctual, communicated professionally, managed the invoicing well and also did an excellent job when we arranged for her to take on some cleaning as well.
Her style of activities suited our children well, mainly focusing on decompressing after the school day and creative and constructive activities as well as taking our son to swimming class.
She cooked well and was very organized about combining this with making sure the children were OK. Our children always requested simple food- but the references we talked to before she started with us mentioned she was capable of really excellent cooking.
Our children were 7 and 9 years old at the time Jude started working for us. Our 9-year-old girl needs quiet time to decompress after school and loved doing creative activities with Jude. Our 7-year-old boy has more challenges managing his emotions and also has some sensory needs which can result in heightened emotions and consequently challenging behaviour. He has been through autism diagnosis paths and various health professionals through school and is on the SEN register- but has not had any formal diagnosis.
