Hello, I’m Jane,
I live in Winsley, with my son Ben, who is 7. Ben and I live with my husband Alex and our two cats (Sherlock and Lily).
We're looking for some help afterschool on Tuesdays and Wednesdays each week from September, either to pick Ben up and bring him home (we live 5 minutes walk from Winsley Primary School), or to go to afterschool activities with Ben and support his engagement with them.
Timings-wise we estimate it would be about 3 hours a day from 3pm onwards.
Ben was diagnosed with ASD when he was three and has a 1:1 TA in mainstream primary. He is a lovely boy, full of giggles and affection. He does have some language processing delay and this can make it difficult for him to follow along with instructions if spoken too quickly but this is very easy to work with when you get to know him.
Ben loves cats, swimming, sea-life, anything to do with the beach, and Minecraft. He is really good at counting and has a fantastic memory for stories. He loves dancing and quite likes sports such as cricket and tennis but struggles with confidence in this area.
