Avoid, especially if your child has SEN.

Maryland may seem fantastic from the outside, looking at the big house and garden, and listening to Mary talk about her love for children and her work. Look closer and you will see dog faeces, flakey paint and overgrown nettles, and some very nasty, unprofessional conduct from Mary and Nando.
Unfortunately, after just 4 months looking after my 2 sons, Mary must have gotten a better offer as, right before the summer holidays, my husband went to pick my 2 sons up and, without any shame or remorse, Mary told him to not bring them back! She terminated childminding without notice, knowing full well that my husband and I both work, and how much upset and inconvenience this would cause, in terminating without notice.
In trying to justify her unlawful conduct, she told my husband she could not handle my Autistic son, and also my 2 year old was ‘badly behaved’ despite never saying this before.
Knowing full well this was a breach of contract, and borderline discrimination, she made up some cock and bull story about my husband being aggressive as a reason to terminate, which is just ridiculous and untrue.
She and her husband Nando said nasty and spiteful things about my sons, and squared up aggressively to my Husband, describing our children as problem children, not what you would expect from a professional ‘daycare’.
Moreover, the following day, at school pick-up and AFTER they had terminated childminding, Nando had the gall to approach my son’s TA in front of me, to again peddle their lies about my son and us to his school. This is wildly unprofessional and vindictive to approach my son’s school after they had finished with my children. They were so desperate to cover up their own conduct. I could not believe how wicked they could be towards a child.
I am extremely relieved we have found out now the type of people Mary and Nando are. Not the type I would trust with my precious children.
The actions by Nando regarding my son’s school prompted me to write this. I hope this will help other prospective parents make the right decision for their children to look elsewhere.

The best Childminder!

We have had an amazing experience with Louise and will be sad for Theo to leave, due to us moving home. She has a caring and patient nature, as well as being reliable and professional. The children are happy, have lots of fun, whilst learning and becoming more independent, for example, being shown how to put their socks and shoes on. The children enjoy fun days out to playgrounds, toddler groups and soft play, as well as being at Louise’s lovely family home and garden. I can always trust that Theo is being well-looked after and he always returns happy and full of smiles. Louise has also been understanding and flexible with ad hoc days and holiday cover, which is so appreciated as a busy working Mum. I would not hesitate to recommend Louise to anyone seeking a childminder.
