My Experience

I have over 15 years’ experience teaching primary school children from Nursery up to Year 4 (age 9), including supporting those with specific educational and behavioural needs. I can provide opportunities to develop pupils’ understanding by relating their learning to real and work-related examples. I can focus on the individual learning style of your child, so that your child will be able to develop their individual skills . I always build positive relationships with children that I teach, based on mutual respect. I have dealt with challenging behaviour and found strategies to move forwards by trying to show an understanding and awareness of potential triggers. I can motivate children to learn by keeping children engaged and make learning fun through games, stories and role play activities. I have experience in teaching phonics using Read, Write Inc and Letters & Sounds and have administered phonics screening checks, Year 2 SATs and the Year 4 multiplication test. I have been Subject Lead for Computing, Humanities and PSHE. I currently work as a Primary Supply Teacher in local schools.
