About Me
Hi everyone, i'm Aunty Ren, married with 2 children. I run my childminding business with my mother-in law Nina, who is also a registered childminder. We are open from 7:15am to 6:00pm, but can be more flexible depending on individual needs. We are both registered childminders with the CIW and are members of the Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years.
We provide a safe, happy and stimulating environment, a home from home where your child will thrive. You may feel anxious about leaving your child for the first time - please don't. You are welcome to visit my home as often as you like, watch your child play in our home based setting and get to know us before we start looking after your son/daughter.
The language spoken is English; we have books, CD's and DVD's in different languages including sign language, which we play regularly.
We have a dog a poochon, who is kept completely away from the children. There is no contact between the dog and the children.
We attend local playgroups and during the week we visit local and bigger parks such as the Knoll and Margam Park. We also visit Aberavon Beach throughout the year.
My Experience
We have been childminding for just over 19 years. Caring for children aged between 8 weeks and 11years old. In that time we have seen many children grow and development from babies into confident, self assured children.
Play is at the centre of the children's development as we believe in education through play. Your child will learn social skills, have opportunities to explore, talk, create and express themselves via activities and experiences.
The setting has a seperate play room, which is safe and secure for all sorts of activities, role playing, books, puzzles and other fun educational play.
We follow the Foundation Phase. This is the framework used in schools, therefore helping the transition from home to setting and setting to school to be as successful and anxious free as possible.
My Qualifications
Both Nina and myself are suitable to look after children mainly under the age of 8years old but also older. We have the appropriate skills, experience and qualifications to meet the needs of the children.
We have successfully completed the appropriate ICP (Introduction to Childcare Practice) pre-registration course.
I have successfully completed CACHE Level 3 Certificate in Childminding Practice and NVQ Level 3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development.
I am currently working towards my MA Early Childhood at University of Wales Trinity Saint David.
Both of us have attended numerous courses including: Paediatric First Aid, Basic Food Hygiene, Child Protection Introduction, Child Protection Advanced, Language and Play, Children and Loss, Baby Sign Language.

Auntie Ren and Nina have looked after both my boys in the past 5 years. They are both professional, caring and kind. They run a home from home childminding business where all children are made to feel welcome and are well cared for. Their playroom is brilliant and my children loved going there. I never had any worries leaving my boys with them and felt confident they would be well looked after. They both came on in leaps and bounds in their care. I can highly recommend them.
