About Me
I have been a registered child-minder with ofsted for 20 years. Last inspected in summer 2019 rated Good. I have two grown up daughters both living away from home. All my family have been DBS checked. I have two dogs, an Irish Setter and a Cocker Spaniel, that have been brought up with children since they were both puppies and a cat called Charlie.
I have a garden that has both decking and grass which is suitable for all year around play. This is specifically dedicated for the children which has a variety of ride on toys to provide imaginative and physical play, that are suitable for all age groups.
A typical day at my friendly home environment would involve a range of child initiated activities including art and crafts, imaginative play and educational games. We also go on regular outings to music and dance groups, farms, parks, messy play groups and meet up with other childminders and their children. This gives children opportunities to socialise with others and form relationship with other children outside my setting.
My Experience
I have experience in all age groups from 6 week old babies right up to junior school children. Some of my children are siblings or cousins of the children i have previous minded. Most of the children i mind come from recommendation from parents or other child-minders. The children i mind normally stay with me until attending school full time and after.
My Qualifications
I am an Accredited child-minder with level 3 child learning and development. I work to the Early years foundation stage and have certificates for Paediatric first aid, child protection level 2, care of learn scheme - teen parent project and baby sign, i continue to attend training regularly in order to keep my knowledge and skills updated.
My Availability
At present I have a full time or part time vacancy. This vacancy can be for a child under a year old or for an early years child. My hours are 8 am to 6 pm, however, I am able to be flexible if required.
I can also accept Early Years Funding.

Jan has been my sons childminder since he was around 6 months old, he has just turned 4. I would absolutely recommend Jan to anyone as she has been so valuable in supporting to essentially raise our son! He has been going to Jan’s Monday-Friday 8am-4pm for years and I have never had a single issue in that time. He is well cared for, enjoys his time there and Jan has supported us at every step from toilet training to weaning.
I didn’t want my son to go to a nursery so early on and was looking for a home from home experience and that is just what we have got. Honestly cannot fault Jan and if I had anymore children would certainly send them to Jan too.
