About Me
I am a qualified teacher with 10 years experience specialising in Early Childhood education. I have recently registered as a Childminder and my last teaching post was at Clyde Nursery School which is rated Outstanding by Ofsted. I live with my wife, Larne, who teaches at the Slade School of Fine Art and my 20 month old son, Rudy, who I look after full time. I believe that everything begins with a secure and loving attachment and so it's very important to me that the children I look after feel part of the family, deeply listened to and cared for. Our home is welcoming, fun and safe and your child will be offered a wide range of experiences with play at the heart of everything we do. We visit lots of sessions at local play groups and spend plenty of time outside on nearby Hampstead Heath as well as visiting museums, galleries, and the zoo regularly. I care a great deal about supporting young children's personal, social and emotional development and helping children to develop positive and inclusive values towards others.
My Experience
I have a great deal of experience working with young children and families in nursery schools, primary schools and children's centres as well as part of home care. I have undertaken extensive professional training in supporting language development and nurturing young children's personal, social and emotional development. I am able to provide references for both my work as a childminder and as a teacher.
My Qualifications
I have a PGCE in Early Years and Primary Education from the Institute of Education, University College London. I am a certified paediatric first aider and have safeguarding training up to the level of Designated Safeguarding Lead.
I have taken part in a number of research projects, conferences and reading groups into what really matters in early childhood education and have contributed to the book Celebrating Children's Learning by Grenier, Finch and Vollans (2018) which argues for the importance of play, listening to the child's voice and working in partnership with parents.
My Availability
I currently have one day-time place available. I am able to offer term-time only places if this is what you require. I may have availability for school holidays only care. I am currently available for before and after school drop offs and collections to local schools and nurseries. Please contact me to discuss.

Adam has looked after 23 month old son on many occasions. Adam is extremely punctual & reliable. Our son has loads of fun when Adam is caring for him.
Overall
Adam has looked after our son (21 months old) a number of times and we have nothing but good things to say about the quality of care our child receives when he spends the day with him. Adam is highly professional, calm and intuitive. His vast experience in education is immediately apparent in the way he communicates with children and in his ability to understand their needs.
Adam provides a caring and nurturing environment in which our child has the space to explore and develop his skills, whether on days out or at home with plenty of play. Our son is always really happy to spend the day with Adam (and Rudy) and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to any parent.
