About Me
I graduated from the University of Birmingham with a 2:1 in psychology and returned two years later to achieve a Postgraduate Diploma in Primary Education. I love working with children and helping them overcome barriers to their learning. My interests include animals, sports and travelling. In my free time, I enjoy keeping fit by playing tennis and going for walks in the beautiful Surrey countryside.
My Experience
I have been working in education for approximately 9 years, teaching English as a foreign language to young learners, but the majority of my experience has been in primary schools. After leaving university, I gained a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) and taught at an international school in Eastbourne. Not only was I teaching, but I also participated in the social activity programme and led excursions to famous landmarks and attractions around the UK. I then returned to university where I achieved my PGCE in primary education. I worked at an inner city school in Birmingham teaching a year 3 class and then I relocated to Surrey where I spent two years teaching in year 4. In 2019, I taught year 3 at an independent school in Surbiton, where I learnt the mastery approach to education. After a short time teaching online, I returned to the classroom where I worked in a year 5 class.
My experience has provided me with a wealth of knowledge and skills across different year groups enabling me to use a range of strategies to help pupils with their learning.
