My Requirements

The primary role would be caring for the baby who will be c.7 months at the time of the position start date (August). This will be a sole charge role albeit both of us parents work from home some of the week (with our own study spaces). Our older son is in pre-school full time but there would be responsibilities which may include pick ups/ drops offs some days, after school play time and dinner preparation. Usually in the school holidays he is enrolled in camps, but it may be occasionally you would also be looking after him for a day here or there.

The hours will be Monday-Friday, 07.45-18.45 (55 hours), perhaps finishing up earlier on Fridays in exchange for one night babysitting in the week, with the day agreed in advance.

We are keen to keep the children learning and developing with stimulating and educational indoor fun (games, reading, singing songs, crafts, imaginary play, etc) mixed with plenty of outside play and walks. We are happy for you to take the baby to groups, play dates and classes, allowing them to interact with other children.

We are also keen for the children to eat healthy meals (which can be a challenge with the older one!) so you will need to prepare nutritious meals for the children, batch cooking when possible. Given the age of the baby, experience with young children is required and knowledge of weaning and potty training.

We employ a weekly cleaner but this role is to include all nursery duties – general care of the children, children’s laundry and bed changing, keeping all areas the children use clean and tidy between weekly cleans (kitchen, children’s bedrooms and playroom). We appreciate a “muck in” approach to keep our home running smoothly, so someone who is happy to load/unload the dishwasher when needed or pick up groceries etc would be helpful.

Given the village location, you must be a driver with a clean licence and your own fully insured car.
