Sheetal nannied our son 2-3 mornings a week from when he was 8 months old, and has become a dear member of our family since. Our little one is 16 months now and has started childminder, but Sheetal still looks after him every now and again.
Where do I begin. She is warm, caring and very professional. Our son loved her right away. Sheetal has a calm and grounded presence - I desperately needed that too with our families and close friends living abroad.
I was worried about naps and solids (our son is a bit of a picky eater), but neither was a problem for Sheetal. We have a strict nap schedule and routine which she picked up pretty much instantly, and from day 2 she was putting my son down for naps without any issue. She batch-cooked the food for him and was super-patient with feeding him, and most of the time he eats really well with her. Another big thing was getting him used to taking a bottle when I was away - and she really helped us here too.
Sheetal tailors the activities to the child and the stage they are at developmentally. That and her genuine love for children means our son is never bored with her. He loves being with her, and I feel that he is safe and happy with her. She has years of experience and regularly updates relevant qualifications so it just feels that our son is in great hands.
She is also flexible in that she follows my plan when I have it, but is indispensable in helping to make decisions when I don’t. She also knows the childcare system really well and has shared lots of valuable knowledge with me.
She is a pleasure to be around, I felt a lot less lonely when she started working with us.
I could go on and on. I will just say that Sheetal is a dear friend to us and I am a better mum thanks to her.
