Hello! I'm a Colchester childminder and mum looking to recruit a part time 'Childminder's Assistant'. I love my job so much but its so much nicer to have someone to bounce ideas around with and share the load.
Hours would be 28.5 per week Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 08.00 - 17.30 in term time only. I would also consider a job share if the right people can only work 1 or 2 of the days.
Occasional overtime and school holiday cover is also an option as demand is high.
I'd be looking to start someone on £11.50 per hour and look to increase as spaces fill.
I'd pay this to you in arears of the month and you would be self employed and responsible for paying your own tax.
I can help with this for any first timers to being self employed. I promise it isn't as scary as it sounds!
The children range from 0 - 10 years but the main focus would be those from 0 - 5 years where we would be working to nurture their development through fun activities and outings in accordance with the EYFS.
Knowledge of the EYFS would be a bonus but not essential as I can go through this with you.
First aid training would be fantastic but not essential as funded training can be provided.
A driver would be a bonus but not essential.
We would need to run a DBS check and register you with Ofsted as my assistant.
My Requirements
We start the day with the children arriving for breakfast then once the older children have been taken to school we work with the early years in our main role providing care and activities enabling them to meet their next steps in development.
After lunch it is nap/quiet time then more activities until time to collect the older children from school.
This is the busiest time of the day getting everyone fed and ready to go home with all their belongings. There is also lots of clearing up to do.
Daily tasks would be to generally assist in the day to day running of the setting including preparing snacks, assisting with activities, nappy changing and helping with clear up times.

The position starts in April but some work is available before if needed or wanted.
