About Me
I work with elderly veterans now, but for many years before my current job I worked as a nanny and I still regularly babysit for the families I used to nanny for. I love looking after children and I have a natural affinity for it. I am kind and patient and I enjoy devising activities for children and helping them to learn and develop. I also appreciate that every family has routines and rules regarding things like meal times, screen time, bed time etc. and that a babysitter should work within these in order to ensure consistency.
My Experience
As stated above, I worked as a nanny for several years before taking up my current job in elderly veteran care. I loved nannying but felt a pull towards working with the elderly, so took the opportunity to do so when it became available. I have nannied in the UK, Singapore and Sweden. I loved it and was very good at it. I have experience doing full-time nannying and before and after school nannying. I enjoy fun recreational activities with children such as baking, crafts, getting out and about, but I am also very good at homework assistance and more educational activities. I am also quite happy to complete some light housework after children have gone to bed.
I have an enhanced DBS certificate that can be shown upon request, I have a full UK driving license and my own car, and I am first aid trained including a two-day paediatric first aid course completed in April 2023.
My Qualifications
I grew up babysitting and have nannied very successfully for several years (references available on request). I have a BA and an MA in History of Art from University College London. I am currently studying for an MSc in Dementia Studies.
My Availability
I am available most weeknight evenings and some weekends.
