About Me
I am a mother of 4 aged 17,11,4,2 with over 17 years of experience working with children and young people.
I am currently working at a primary school as a lunchtime play supervisor and sometimes do cover work as a senior youth worker. This is my passion but raising my 2 Littles youth work is not so doable at the moment with the late finishes. I was going to start doing deliveries in the evenings but was recommended this I thought it would be great for me as I love working with children and can do it around raising my Littles who are very sociable.
My Experience
I havelwith children and young people in a senior position in a variety of settings from primary school to youth clubs which had allowed me to gain essential skills,
including
* Setting up planning activities in a safe and secure environment by carrying out a risk assessment.
* Making sure all planned activities are inclusive (eg arts & crafts, cooking, homework club, group games, trips and more )
* Dealing with incidents, injuries and emergencies making sure all the correct procedures are met (eg incident reports, first-aid )
* Clear communication between parents, staff and other professionals
* Preparing and serving healthy snacks
* Allowing children to feel safe to express any worries and concerns they may have
* Keeping a record of the number of attendees
I believe that play is a pivotal part of Children’s development by improving their cognitive, physical, social and emotional well-being of children and young people.
I am a collaborative team player who is always searching for opportunities to impart valuable insights. With
these qualities, I can facilitate positive change and impact outcomes.
