About Me
Im a 45 year old Mum of three. My kids are 12, 15 and 25. My 25 year old has severe learning disabilities.I’ve always been his full time carer but he recently moved into a supported living placement. Im still very involved in his care and we see him regularly. I home educate our youngest child and am starting a new part time job in September, working as a PA for a lady with disabilities.
My Experience
Before my own children I trained as a Montessori Directress and worked in a lovely nursery in Dublin. I then had my oldest son and moved back to England where i worked as a Montessori Directress as a nursery in Thames Ditton. In my younger days I also did a lot of babysitting and also worked as a live in nanny for a family in Richmond. My plan for the future was to continue with Montessori and one day to open up my own nursery.
When my oldest was two he was in and out of hospital and required round the clock care. Caring for him full time as well as raising our other two younger children has kept me very busy and I have been unable to go into paid employment due to our son’s high care needs. Now that he is in a supported living placement and our younger two kids are getting a bit more independent I am starting a new job and would like to do some babysitting on top of this.
Whilst I dont have a huge amount of ‘work’ experience in recent years, i have a lot of life experience and experience of children/adults with sen, as well as experience with newborns through to high school age, being a Mum to my own three children.
My Qualifications
I left school after taking my Gcse’s and did a Montessori Diploma at Surrey college in Guildford.
