About Me
I have always had a love for taking care of children as the 'responsible' second-eldest sister. I enjoy being the sister that my siblings can feel like they can go to for serious conversations, can go to when they're scared of being judged or of being told off.
From cousins to siblings, people in my family have made comments that I always have a way with kids, and I can't wait for the day I am loved enough and stable enough to have one of my own. I like to think of myself as very keen and empathetic to the needs of people, and am in the process of finding a good childcare course to further my skill and knowledge.
My Experience
Second-Eldest of 6 children, with 4 sisters (21, 14, 10 and 7) and 1 brother (5). I have been the primary babysitter of my younger siblings, and am incredibly trusted by further family (as second to third eldest of 24 grandchildren).
I myself have Autism, as well as my younger brother and and a cousin a year younger than myself. My mother has gone as far to say that I am better suited to caring for my brother (who was non-verbal and slowly learning to speak through therapy) due to my clear understanding of stimming. Additionally, I am used to assisting children going through strained family dymanics including parental seperation and being available as a confidant for young girls coming into maturity.
As a writer of 16 years, I have been complimented by teachers for my skill in reading, and of course always have a new and refreshing story at hand for bedtime.
I additionally have a Red Cross Badge for first aid; able to deal with anything from seizures to choking and CPR (from infancy to adulthood). I also have experience as a carer, including cooking, cleaning, changing pads & nappies and bathing, along with adminstering medications.
A more less used skill of mine is my high GSCE level education; I have become a crux for helping my younger sister in her maths, but personally in school was 16 lessons ahead in Combined Science due to my aptitude for learning. I am also a major history buff out of my own love, and although I dropped French due to personal reasons, am good at MFL. I can assist with home schooling or just generic homework.
