About Me
Hi I’m Casey, Im 23. I grew up with 5 siblings 3 of which have special educational needs. So I’m very well versed in ASD, Dyslexia and ADHD. I will be starting my degree in Education and Special Educational Needs in September 2024. My youngest sister was born 13 years after I was born so I soon began taking care of her as big families often do. I never choose to pursue childcare it was so ingrained in who I am anytime I tried to do something different I felt drawn back to it. Unfortunately I don’t have a full driving license but am currently taking lessons to achieve this and own my own car.
My Experience
I currently work as a Teaching Assistant at multiple Wirral Primary schools spending the majority of last year in a special education primary school learning more about how to help children with special educational needs. From an early age I was learning coping strategies and techniques to use in helping children with SEN such as dyslexia, ASD, sensory issues/meltdowns, Anxiety, ADHD and more.
Growing up in a large family meant I was changing nappies and watching my siblings from the age of 8 years old. I also volunteered at a local youth club between the ages of 15 and 17 helping children with their homework, organising activities and preparing snacks.
