My Summary

My Experience

Becoming a primary teacher has been a goal that has shaped my academic and personal journey from a young age. I have, therefore, over the years taken many opportunities to ensure I am prepared and experienced for the role.

As part of my course, I have undertaken four successful school experience placements in various primary schools across Glasgow and North Lanarkshire. I have also volunteered in primary schools to gain further experience outwith my course remit. My extensive experience in schools, working with children aged 4-11 from diverse backgrounds, has given me invaluable knowledge and understanding in planning and delivering lessons that cater to the diverse needs, abilities, and learning styles of all students.

In 2024 I gained my honours degree in Primary education at the University in Glasgow. This degree has equipped me with a broad range of skills and experiences essential for effective teaching, such as pedagogical knowledge, knowledge and understanding of child development, assessment and evaluation, and reflective practice.

Furthermore, until recent years, I was a trainee officer in my local girls brigade. This gave me the opportunity to work with girls from ages 4-17, as I lead group activities and helped with the organisation of the company nights.

While my main experience lies within the primary sector, I also have an in-depth knowledge of Scottish higher and national five level exam coursework. Having gained my school qualifications from 2019-2020, I understand the immense pressure that comes with exams and course work. I am committed to helping students succeed in their exams by providing clear, structured guidance and support. My approaches create a relaxed and positive learning environment where students feel comfortable and confident, allowing them to thrive without feeling pressured.

I know, from experience, that the right, supportive and encouraging tutor can make a great impact on a child’s academic journey. Whether working with young children or older students, I tailor my methods to meet individual needs, fostering a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom and supports long-term success.

My Availability

As a full-time student and part-time employee at Mamas and Papas, my availability is primarily during weekday evenings. While weekends tend to be busy with work commitments, I am committed to being flexible and will do my best to accommodate your schedule and needs. I am dedicated to finding mutually convenient times to support your child's learning journey.
