About Me
My husband and I have a son, Theodore (born mid August 2024). We are looking for a part-time nanny to help us 2-3 days a week from 3 April to 13 June. I will be returning to work part-time, so we need childcare until Theo’s nursery place becomes available in mid-June. One of the days would need to be Monday, and the other(s) could be any of Tues-Thurs. I would also be open to a nanny share.
We are both Americans, from Texas. I (Gina, the mom) work at University of Edinburgh, with some work-from-home days and some in-office days. I am on parental leave until May 2025. My husband (Mike) works as a Software Engineering Manager -- most of the time he works from home. While we love our jobs, our main focus is on creating a warm and nurturing home for Theo. We also have two sweet-tempered cats, Islay (tortie girl) and Bailey (grey tabby boy).
We live in the Canonmills neighbourhood, on the north edge of New Town.
My Requirements
We hope to find someone with experience caring for young babies (7 months+). Our main goal is to ensure our son is cared for by a stable, nurturing, engaging person with a good understanding of his developmental needs and who is open to caring for him in the style that we prefer (gentle, responsive, baby-led).
We are open to either a childminder or a nanny. If a nanny: Because Mike works from home, there would almost always be someone at home while you are here. However, you would have full charge of the baby as he only likes to pop out to say hi to Theo occasionally between meetings.
