About Me
My husband and I have a son, Theodore (born mid August 2024). We are looking for a part-time nanny to help us for around 4 hours per day on weekdays (flexible if this is morning vs afternoon). This would be a temporary set up for a couple of months. We are quite flexible on exact number of hours, times, etc. We just need a bit of help!
We are both Americans, from Texas. I (Gina, the mom) work at University of Edinburgh, with some work-from-home days and some in-office days. I am on parental leave until May 2025. My husband (Mike) works as a Software Engineering Manager -- most of the time he works from home. While we love our jobs, our main focus is on creating a warm and nurturing home for Theo. We also have two sweet-tempered cats, Islay (tortie girl) and Bailey (grey tabby boy).
We live in the Canonmills neighbourhood, on the north edge of New Town.
My Requirements
We hope to find someone with experience caring for young babies. Our main goal is to ensure our son is cared for by a stable, nurturing, engaging person with a good understanding of his developmental needs. We would both be home while you are here — what we really need is an extra set of hands to help care for the baby.
There would be some light housekeeping duties involved, namely laundry, washing dishes, and keeping the play area and bedroom tidy. (We have a cleaner who comes biweekly for deep cleans).
