About Me
Hello! My name is Lauren, I am 26 & originally from Glasgow, Scotland. I am moving to Gateshead next week & will be living there for the next 2 years. I will be going to Newcastle University to study a Speech Therapy Postgraduate degree which will keep me very busy but I am keen to set up some regular babysitting jobs where I can build a relationship with the child & parent over these 2 years. I love working with children & hope to pursue the route of Speech Therapy for children after my course is complete. Aside from my course, I enjoy running, going to the gym & seeing my friends as often as possible.
My Experience
In my teens, I did a lot of babysitting & also have experience working with children doing a sport summer camp, but more recently, I have volunteered with two charities that work with children. With Edinburgh Children's Hospital Charity, I was an Arts Volunteer & we would go round the wards doing singing, dancing & arts and crafts with the children. This year I have been volunteering with Corum Beanstalk as a reading helper in a primary school in London. I would spend one afternoon a week doing a reading session with children who needed a bit of extra support with reading outside the busyness of the classroom. Throughout my course, I will also be doing placements with children attending speech therapy clinics.
My Qualifications
2024-2026 - Training to become a Speech Therapist with the NHS, this will include placements with both children & adults. Arts Volunteer in a Children's Hospital, reading helper with Corum Beanstalk.
My Availability
Depending on my timetable for the semester, I should be free most week day evenings & weekends if the job is booked in with suitable notice. Please still get in touch with times if it is out with the evenings as I may be able to work things around!

All I can say is I’m glad I found her, I was so nervous leaving my daughter with anyone but Lauren put my mind at ease, she assured me, paid attention to everything that was needed for my daughter on the day, she is so caring with the patience and understanding of a saint. Definitely would recommend and I can’t thank her enough for the overtime as I was running late.
