About Me
I am a highly sociable and energetic person with lots of experience in the early years. I worked as a teaching assistant in a high school in 2021 and then made the bold decision to travel abroad to South Korea to experience a new place and profession as a kindergarten teacher. There I began my early years journey and developed my expertise and skills during my 2 years living there. Since returning to the UK, I had wanted to explore my options, but still participate in childcare, so I am interested in parts time childcare roles.
My Experience
- I worked as a teaching assistant in a high school in 2021, supervising the children in the isolation room who were out of circulation
- 2 years in South Korea working as a Kindergarten teacher. My main class was for children aged 2-3 and I lead play-based activities with the children, conducted circle/carpet time activities, attended to their daily needs and encouraged their independence.
- In South Korea I also taught afterschool classes in my school to children aged 2-7 year olds, doing activities such as arts and crafts, sports and story-time and then reading comprehension with the oldest children.
- Volunteering 2 mornings a week in a day nursery, working mostly children 2 years of age.
My Qualifications
- BSc (Hons) Psychology with Criminology
- MSc by Research in Criminology/Criminal Justice
- TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) 120 Hours
My Availability
Due to other employment I am not available evenings and some afternoons from Wednesday - Sunday. I am currently available some mornings, this will most likely increase to every morning in the New Year, once I have completed some volunteering I am participating in at a day nursery to gain further experience of UK practices.
