About Me
My name is Leigh and I have two grown up sons who are my world. They live in Cornwall, where I resided for 33 years. I also have a beautiful granddaughter who is my first grandchild. We have a wonderful bond and she is a huge part of my life, as is the rest of my family.
I left Newquay in 2018 to pursue my dream to work and live in the Caribbean. I then returned and moved to Exmouth to be close to my Mum and family.
I am a dedicated, enthusiastic,self-reliant individual who thrives on my career of caring for others. I have gained a wealth of experience during my eleven years as a health care provider. I have a passion for supporting others and always giving my best with a person-centred approach. I have adhered to all training within my role and my DBS is current due to being on the update service.
I am a caring, conscientious, polite, hard working individual and will provide the highest level of care and nurture to those I support.
I enjoy the outdoors, especially the coastline of Devon and Cornwall. I like leisurely cycling, swimming and snorkelling. I have travelled extensively and particularly have a passion for The Caribbean. I have lived in the South Pacific and The British Virgin Islands. During Covid lockdown, I worked at The Nightingale Facility in Gibralter.
I love going to concerts, camping, weekends away and most importantly, spending time with my family.
My Experience
During my 11 years working for a healthcare agency, I have gained considerable knowledge and experience with both children and adults.
I have worked in child day care, from newborn to the age of five. I supported children in respite with complex physical and mental health disabilities.
Children in care who are in a semi-independent settings and residential care for young people. This involved teaching them and learning to manage living post 18.
I have a wealth of experience with mental health in both children and adults.
Earlier on in my career and in recent times, I have accomplished support with live-in-care and hospitals.
With this experience, i have been able to adapt to most situations and am able to support in a calm, professional and kind and nurturing manner.
