About Me
I am a British national, but our roots do come from Sri Lanka. I am married and have a 23 year old daughter. I am situated in north west London (Colindale, northern line), I also drive and I have my own car. Since English is my second language, it is reasonably good. I also speak Tamil and Sinhalese which I am fluent in. I am very organised, creative and an artistic person who lives cooking different cuisines. Other personal interests of mine includes baking, sewing and hairdressing. I am very good with children and enjoy working with them. I believe I have the experiences to do this. Children all have such lovely personalities and I really enjoy keeping them happy and making them feel safe and helping them to develop their skills that they will need in their future.
I also consider myself to be extremely responsible, flexible, energetic, fun loving Pearson and also very trustworthy. Reliable and punctuality is my top qualities. I believe I have the experiences to do this.
I have 10 years of experience as a sole charge Nanny. I carry out all nursery duties such as school runs, keeping the children's rooms clean and tidy, carrying out children's laundry as well as ironing and cooking healthy meals. I also like to involve the children in activities such as arts and crafts as well as play dough and I also like taking trips to the park for plenty of fresh air as well as on educational trips to places such as the museum and the London zoo. Arranging play dates, helping with homework if necessary and taking them to after school activities also includes in the duties I carry out.
I have looked after children between the ages of 4 months to 6 years, but I have my personal experience of looking after my own daughter for the past 23 years, as well as my nieces and nephews.
I chose this career because I am very good with children and enjoy working with them.
I have very good references and I am available to start mid September as I am currently taking care of two children of the age of 5 and 3 with whom I have worked for over 4 years. The reason for which I am looking for a new family to work for is due to an unseen circumstances which I am faced with.
I am looking for a family who I can work with as a team, also I would like to mention that as a person, when I start to look after a child I like to treat them as my own so I would expect the same in return.
My Experience
Waine Family Part -Time Nanny
I have been working for the Waine family for five years part time and currently working as a sole charge nanny once a week (every Friday) in which I take care of a seven year old boy and a five year old girl. Duties includes such as preparing healthy meals, taking the children to school and after school activities. I also take care of children's laundry and tidy up their room and help them with their educational activities and many more.
Bilgin Family Part- Time Nanny
This was a sole charge position in which I took care of 8 month old baby boy and I took care of all the necessary nursery duties. (2 days per week)
McCullagh Family Full-Time Nanny
This was a sole charge position in which I cared for a 3 year old girl. Duties included picking the child up from school respectively, after- school activities, arranging play dates for the girl, teaching her arts and crafts, taking trips to places, such as; park, museums, zoo, birthday parties, and many more. I also helped the child with any homework she may had. Did shopping and prepared healthy meals and tended to the child's washing and ironing. I also gave her hair cuts when she needed it. I gave her baths and put her to bed when it was necessary. (5 days per week)
Dr. Thavaraja & Family Full- time Nanny
This was a sole charge position in which I cared for a 16 month girl. Duties included; taking the child to libraries for story time, trips to the park, and play groups. I also played with her and read her stories, though her arts and crafts. Prepared healthy meals and tended to the child's washing and ironing. Also kept her room clean and tidily. I gave her occasional haircuts, baths, and put her to bed when necessary. (5 days per week)
Indira Vivakananthan & Family Part- time Nanny
I worked as Mother's help in which I cared for a 11 month baby girl. Duties included; feeding, preparing healthy meals, playing with the baby (singing), tended to the child's washing and ironing, taking the baby to the park, pick nicks, play groups, and church. I also gave her baths and haircuts when necessary. Sewed cloths when needed, and made the baby's firths birthday cake. (3 days per week)
