We used Jen as the child-minder for our two children for eight years.
When the kids started they were aged 1 and 4 and they were immediately made to feel welcome. In fact they have always been made to feel like part of the family, and now count Jen's own children amongst their friends (a quick word here for Jen's children, who are really fantastic with other kids of all ages and are friendly, polite and generally good influences). They were always talking about the fun things they have been up to, and are often bringing little gifts and pictures home that they had made.
Both of the kids started as full time attendees, and Jen took them to school every day and picked them up. Jen provides snacks and drinks as required, and cover on school inset days.
Jen uses the Babys Days software, which means we could quickly review any admin and easily track the kids’ progress, including photographs that Jen regularly uploaded.
The children always had plenty of activities, often outdoors, and regularly attended meetings and groups with other child-minders and their wards. As a result they grew a large circle of new friends. Their progress socially was really noticeable since Jen had been looking after them.
Jen has a no nonsense and trustworthy character that promotes good behaviour. The kids certainly seemed to behave themselves and any discipline was always been appropriate and measured. As well as respecting her rules, the kids were very comfortable in her company and happy to be comforted by her if they were upset or hurt.
One of the most apparent things about Jen's character is how much she enjoys her job and really enjoys the company of the children. She never talks down to them, is calm and patient in dealing with them, and involves them in all aspects of her work, as well as providing a safe, hygienic and stimulating environment. She was always willing to discuss any concerns we had and was honest and flexible in her approach when requested.
Even though our kids have graduated to high school and are no longer cared for by Jen, our daughter still talks about her often, and likes to visit occasionally for cookies and to catch up.
We have no doubt that the quality and consistency of Jen’s care has been instrumental in our children developing into friendly, inquisitive, polite and adventurous kids, and we have no hesitation in recommending her to others.

Jen has been an absolute life saver for us!!! Our Little girl was extremely shy and not very confident at all...and wow is she a fussy eater! Jen was absolutely amazing in the support she gave, encouragement with exploring different foods, even giving me ideas on how to go about tackling this issue at home! I have no idea what magic she has done, but now my daughter is more confident and such a chatter box!!! every step of the way Jen would send pics, updates as to what they were doing and took them to really nice parks or treated them to Costa a few times. Jen has an amazing way with kids and is always there for extra support! You never feel alone (for all those single parents out there) when raising your child. Honestly she is one in a million!!!

Our daughter has been with Jen since she turned 1 and recently started primary school. She loved her time and made lots of friends, had great experiences and learnt lots of new things. They were always going to group sessions, days out and doing lots of fun activities - often coming home with pictures and cakes and all other things they had been doing. Jen is full of good ideas and puts a lot of work in to making sure her children are entertained and educated.
Jen made sure she was ready to start school when the time came and she has quickly settled in there.
We were kept informed with photos and updates so always knew what was happening.
We would not hesitate to recommend Jen and the service provided. Thanks Jen!

Jen is an outstanding childminder, we call her Mary Poppins!!! :-)
Our son started with Jen only a few month ago, but from our first visit we knew she was the childminder for us. She is friendly, well organised, professional and takes great pride in what she does. She makes us feel very welcome and is incredibly reassuring with providing regular updates. Jen uses an app called Baby Days, which as a parent is wonderful as you have an online dairy of your child's day with lots of lovely photos!
Jen provides a friendly, loving, home-from-home environment and we cannot thank her enough for making our son settle in so quickly. Our son is always happy to be dropped off and Jen and her 3 children always him feel so welcome.

Aww, thank you for such a lovely reference. Finley is a pleasure to look after and we love having him here in the day with the other children.
My son stayed with Jen for just under two years before moving onto pre-school. He absolutely loved it!
Jen provides a vast array of activities and her garden is well equipped with a variety of equipment including a playhouse, wooden teepee, nature kitchen, swing/slide/climbing frame set and veg/flower bed for gardening.
Jen is brilliant with the kids and always goes above and beyond to create memories and keepsakes to bring home and share with the family on special days. I was always confident that my son was in safe hands and Jen kept us up to date with regular diaries, photos and safety policies. Safeguarding is definitely a top priority for Jen which is very reassuring. She also supports the children with their emotional development and builds a respectful and caring relationship - always reinforcing good manners and high expectations of behaviour and independence which complimented our expectations at home perfectly.
Jen takes the children to lots of different playgroups and activities, and regularly meets with other childminders so my son was able to build a wide group of friends and was happy and confident with Jen's back up childminder (although in 2 years we never needed this as she was never ill) showing her reliability and dedication to her job.
Jen regularly says how much she genuinely loves her job, and this is evident in her setting. She is outstanding with ofsted, and outstanding with us!

My daughter (Maya) was only with Jen for a few months due to an unfortunate change in my working arrangements, but in that short time she developed a very strong bond with Jen and also with her own three children, regularly giving them all “kisses” and “cuddles”.
It was always a joy to read Maya’s daily diary and see the photos Jen sent to us, as every day was a varied and fun day with lots of arts & crafts, messy play, group activities and days out.
I really can’t recommend Jen enough to any parent looking for childminding and if I ever found myself in a position where I needed child care again for Maya I would definitely look to Jen first.

My son was 10 months old when I started back at work and I was really anxious about leaving him. My husband and I dropped him off at Jens for a day the week before for a trial, we dropped him off at 0800 and he didn't even look back at us to say goodbye! This has been the case every day ever since. He has a brilliant time every day he's there, he has really bonded with the whole family and the other children in Jens care. I get sent a daily diary every day of what he's been up to and pictures of a very happy little boy to go with it. Jen and her family have been just perfect in every way. Her children often sit down for cuddles with my son, read him stories and play games with him, he says their names constantly when he's at home as he just adores them. She takes the children out of the house daily and attends the children centres in the area, so my son mixes with other children and takes part in new activities regularly. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Thank you for the kind review. My job is made all the more easy by having great children that enjoy all the interactions/activities we all participate in.
It's certainly one of the many pleasures that I get from this choice of career.

Thank you. Your little girl has become a valued member of my childcare career as she is just a tad older than my son and therefore they have both grown up together and have become good friends. And its this kind of thing that makes the whole childcare profession a great pleasure to which I'm grateful for.
