My Summary
Highly Experienced, Qualified, And Creative Part-Time Nanny
About Me
I am a qualified, creative, caring, dedicated, and highly experienced English nanny. I see small humans holistically, empathetically, and positively.
I love to give children varied enjoyable and educational options regularly, especially within their interests and developmental stage. I am resourceful and know of many practical ways of engaging the minds and bodies of little ones. I highly regard child-led creative play and hands-on activities. I'm so dedicated that I often bring activities I have prepared in my own time and share them on my website. I even own a laminator and paper cutter, along with other resources to create safe, practical playthings for the children in my care.
I take little ones out once or twice per day to playgrounds, nature reserves, playgroups, rhyme/music sessions, play dates, sport/dance classes, libraries, and soft play centres that are available locally. I check the weather forecast daily and make sure that we are prepared for each outing, which often includes full waterproofs.
I'm used following daily and weekly schedules that fit and change with the children's growing needs. I try my best to give children the environment, information and support needed to empower them to choose safe and respectful actions as soon as they are ready. I am sensitive to how much control is needed to keep young children safe and feel emotionally supported. I also love to give them space and time to experience and discover things for themselves.
I cook simple nutritious meals and prepare healthy snacks. I'm used to following the family's dietary preferences. I am experienced with accommodating, cooking and baking within various dietary requirements/allergies. I am happy to take initiative by doing basic family laundry, keeping the kitchen clean and the children's things tidy.
My Experience
Since I was a teenager, I have enjoyed caring for young children for 20 years as an early years practitioner, childminding assistant and a nanny. I left all the paper work and stifling policies to focus on caring for children.
For 15 years, I've been a mostly sole charge nanny, with occasional parental shared care sprinkled in. I'm highly experienced and love caring for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers.
My Qualifications
I gained an A in a Childcare and Education level 3 diploma (a two year, full-time college course, which qualifies me to care for and educate children from birth to age eight).
I did a short Montessori at Home course, attend childcare workshops, read parenting books and do internet research on childcare and early years education topics. I have completed many 12 hour, paediatric first aid courses and will keep doing so every 3 years. My regular DBS checks always come back squeaky clean and I'm on the update service.
I understand the basics and have experience of the Montessori method, Steiner early years education, heuristic play, autonomous education (child led learning), Resources for Infant Educarers (RIE), positive parenting, baby-led and adult-led weaning, nappy changing in all its forms, elimination communication, potty learning, raising screen-free children, gentle parenting, various methods of sleep support/training, natural living, attachment parenting and baby wearing (including toddlers).
My Availability
I am returning to London and will be available for interviews from March 2025. I'll be available to work for 30-40 hours per week from the second or third week of March. I'm flexible about which days I work, but also need time to work on my online business about early years activities.

Claire has been with our family for nearly two years, from when my daughter was four months old. She is a wonderful nanny, incredibly warm and compassionate, calm and caring. She has looked after our little girl so beautifully. She is always coming up with developmentally appropriate games and activities, takes our daughter to lots of playgroups and parks, and is full of useful, sensible advice and tips, not to mention patience, kindness and humour. She has been a vital part of our family and I will miss her so much when we relocate at the end of the year! I cannot recommend her more highly. A truly special, magical person.
Claire worked with our family for 3.5 years (September 2018-January 2022). She started when our eldest was 6 months old, and continued with us after our second was born. She has been an incredible support to our family, and a wonderful caregiver for both of our daughters. She is punctual, organised and reliable. She has a lovely gentle way with children. She is extremely knowledgeable and can offer advice on all sorts of baby and toddler issues. Both of my daughters adore her and miss her - Claire stopped working with us when I chose to become a full-time stay at home parent. I could not recommend her more highly-she will be an asset to any family she works with.
