Having always used nannies to care for our daughter, it was a big leap turning to the care of a nursery when she turned two and evidently needed more social interaction with children her own age. From the first meeting with nursery manager Sarah, we felt confident that Butterflies was the right choice. On top of the location being perfect, a quaint village setting with an expanse of garden, the staff are all superbly attentive to the children, so every day our daughter emerges happy (and exhausted!). The staff at Butterflies have not only watched our little one grow but been responsible for so much of her development and as we teeter towards the start of her school years, there is sadness knowing that her days at Butterflies are drawing to a close. We're just hoping that there are some days of childcare possible during the summer after lockdown so our little one can enjoy some quality time with the staff and the friends she's missed so much in recent weeks.
Butterflies is a brilliant nursery. My daughter attended Butterflies from the age of 2 until she went to school and my son, who is now 3 and a half, has been at Butterflies since he was 11 months old. I have been so happy with the standard of care they have received. It's a small nursery, and so all the staff know all the children really well and are very nurturing in their approach. There are always lots of activities going on. A huge draw for me was the large garden attached to the nursery as well as it's proximity to Thursley common making nature walks etc possible. Communication from the nursery is excellent, and they have now started using Tapestry which I love as we can see updates about what the children have been up to. I have also appreciated how flexible and accommodating they have been in terms of changing hours or adding additional sessions. Nearly every morning my son asks me if he is going to nursery that day, which just goes to show how happy he is there.
My daughter started at Butterflies nursery when she was 18 months old and loves it.
The staff have been so kind making her feel welcome, the small group size means they really do all know each child and she is always busy with fun activities. I don’t worry about her at all when she is there as I know that she is happy and in good hands.
She points longingly at the nursery when we drive past when it’s not her days to go, I could not recommend Butterflies highly enough.
