Wonderful, caring, child-focused nanny

Judi worked for us as both an after-school nanny for my son and then also as a daytime nanny after our daughter was born. Both our children adore her and she has become an integral part of our family life even though we no longer need a nanny. I can’t imagine a time when she won’t be closely connected with us and with the children, as a friend and a guide to us and to them.

Judi is one of the most natural child-carers that I have ever met. Children and babies warm instantly to her, and she is as good with an older child – even a teenager - as with a toddler, which is very rare. She is easily the most child-focused carer that we have ever had for our children - she listened to their needs, went at their pace and spent hours playing with them. She sought out ways to stimulate them, was led by their priorities and built on what she knew that they enjoyed. But she was also great at making sure that the less pleasant things in a child's life - homework, music practice etc - were done: she worked alongside me as a parent and made sure that everyone was happy. She created clear boundaries for the children, and was always careful to check with me to make sure that her approach was consistent with our own. She thinks about each child as an individual.

Judi worked for us part-time as a day-time nanny and when my daughter woke up in the morning, one of the first things that she asked wais “if today is a Judi day”. If it was, she lit up. As a busy working parent, it was lovely to know that the children were not only safe and well looked after, but were also looking forward to spending time with the person who is taking care of them. Judi puts the whole of herself into her work, and children respond to that by loving her in return.
