About Us

Field End Infant School is a vibrant, happy and harmonious place where children learn in a positive learning environment. Children are at the heart of all we do, we are committed to achieving our best and providing a high quality early years education for all. The dedicated teams of staff plan the curriculum and organise their classrooms in such a way that children are well motivated and enjoy the school experience whilst reaching their full potential in a warm, caring and supportive environment. Ofsted have recognised this and have rated the school outstanding in all areas. We see education as a partnership between parents and school. We value our close relationships and good communication which ensures that school life is a happy and successful experience for children and their families.

Our Childcare Provision

Breakfast club 7.45am-8.50 daily. Our Breakfast club, run by the school, has a warm, welcoming conducive atmosphere in which the children may enjoy a shared, relaxed, sociable breakfast; consisting of a choice of healthy cereals; toast, tea, fruit juice, water and milk.

After school club 3.20pm -5.45pm daily. The after school club is run by Smartys who collect the Reception and Infant children from their classrooms at the end of the school day. A register is taken and during the session a healthy snack is provided. Play workers set up a variety of activities to meet the needs and interests of all the children and they are encouraged to take part in creative activities such as arts and crafts, cooking and drama. Active play is offered every day as well as imaginative play, board games and a quiet area for reading or homework. All the staff are DBS checked and most are qualified in Paediatric First Aid. A 1:8 ratio is operated and Smartys is Ofsted registered.

Holiday Club 8am- 5.45pm during school holidays. The holiday club is run by Jump 4 Joy. At their recent Ofsted (Feb 2018) it was noted that 'this is a strong provision, with some excellent aspects. For example partnership with parents is extremely good and there is a well established key-person system, supporting the youngest children extremely well.'
'Children enjoy their time at the setting, and take part in a broad range of activities that complements what they do at school and encourage their creativity and physical skills.'

Extra- Curricular activities 3.30pm-4.30pm term time. We also offer our pupils a wide range of clubs after school: Zumba, tennis, gymnastics, dodge ball and football.
