Hello and welcome !
My name is Jean and I'm an OFSTED registered childminder.
I have been married for 22 years and have 2 grown up boys aged 19 and 22. We have a loveable gentle Border Terrier who is used to being around children and enjoys their company.
My home is a safe, friendly and welcoming environment. There is a separate playroom and a secure garden with plenty of space to run about and play. I offer a wide range of activities and opportunities for all children in line with the EYFS. This includes a good range of toys, tons of books, crafts and cooking activities as well as plenty of outdoor play.
I love the outdoors, so children enjoy plenty of fresh air whilst we are out and about. They enjoy walks, parks and picnics. Occasionally we go on outings and travel by train or local buses.
We regularly go to Toddler groups, local parks, play areas and library.
Whilst children are in my care, they have fun learning through play, in a caring, calm and homely environment.
I am a loving and caring person and I like to ensure that children feel safe and at home and become part of my family.
I can provide excellent references from past and present parents.

My Experience
Having two children of my own.
Having been a childminder since 2002 to date.
Experience with children that have Asthma and various food allergies.
My Qualifications
I hold an Introduction to Childminding Practice.
First Aid is updated every year and most recently September 2021.
Safeguarding Children training updated every 3 years, most recently December 2019.
I regularly undertake a variety of training to update my knowledge and improve my setting, most recently include New Practice Guidance for SENCO'S, Teaching Maths in a Childminding setting and New Observation, Assessment and Planning for Childminders.
I have also completed lots of other training over the years, all of which is available for you to see when you visit me.
My Availability
I am open Monday - Thursday 8.00 a.m. - 6.00 p.m

Earlier start time/later finish time also possible.
I am very flexible to try and meet the requirements of the families I childmind for.

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.00 per hour
They depend upon the amount of hours required. I am registered for Tax Free Childcare. I also accept childcare vouchers. Please contact me for details.

Jean is a thoughtful and caring childminder. She looked after my two children for 18 months, one of them was 11 months old and one 3.5 years when she took them on. She makes a lot of effort to get to know the children and respond to them as individuals with different personalities and interests. Jean provides tasty, nutritious, home-cooked food for the children in her setting, and involves them in the cooking. Jean took my children to a great range of activities outside her setting, including groups, parks and museums. She also provided stimulating activities in her home. My children enjoyed being at Jean's setting and an affectionate relationship developed between them. Jean communicated well about all aspects of the children's development and routines when with her.
