Hello, I'm Ciara; I am a 23-year-old full-time uni student studying Childhood and Youth Studies (online) who has worked in and out of schools as a special needs teaching assistant.
I am looking for occasional ad-hoc work for when you need a well-deserved night off or a last-minute cover if something comes up. I also offer occasional/emergency after-school pick-up.
I support many families in different ways, as well as working and studying for my degree, which results in my availability fluctuating weekly.

My Experience
I have worked with children of all ages. I have experience working with a range of children, from twins & triplets to working in mainstream and SEN schools.

My Qualifications
I have a DBS, which shows if I have any criminal offences to my name. I'm also studying British Sign Language and Makaton, a sign language used mainly with children with additional needs. I have completed some accredited courses, such as the basis in First Aid and others, which you can find below.
My Availability
I'm available to accommodate babysitting requests, but due to my new full-time study schedule, my availability will be limited. Please reach out in advance, and I'll do my best to find a suitable time.

My Fees
- Babysitting from £12.00 per hour
I let my families decide; this ranges from £12 - £20 per hour (Av. £15) plus transport (bus fare £1.75 per bus) during the day and taxi or lift before 0800 and after 1800 as I am conscious about my safety early in the morning and late and night.
The fee depends on factors such as how many children you have and what services you want me to provide.
I have some additional fees for different situations:
>Before 0830 I charge £15 per hour
>For school drop off and pick up, the minimum charge is one hour at £15 per hour
>After 2400 I charge £15 per hour
>Overnight stays range from £15 - £25 per hour for a 12 hour shift
>An hour In-person visit will cost £10 plus transport fees to your location.
You will be charged for the whole booking unless you give 72 hours' notice of a change of hours. Bookings that go over their finishing time by 15 minutes without a 30-minute notice will also be charged.
Cancellation Policy:
I require at least a 72-hour notice to cancel a booking; otherwise, a 50% fee will be charged.
I don’t want a family to fear that they cannot ask me to babysit for financial reasons. I am happy to discuss this privately.

We hired Ciara for babysitting for our girls a few times. Ciara was an absolute delight from the moment we first spoke. In a nutshell, she is the perfect combination of utmost professionalism and respect, just the right amount of laid back flexibility for parents and of course maximum amount of energy, fun and alertness with the kids. She is full of energy and positivity and truly treated my kids as if they were her own. With Ciara, I felt very comfortable and safe to leave the kids for a night out.
Ciara was amazing with the girls and they had a great time with her. I have a very fussy 14 month old and Ciara did wonders to sooth her. She never complained about anything and was so easy to work with.
I highly recommend Ciara as I have worked with many different babysitters in the past and none of them even compare. Ciara ticks off every box in the checklist.
We can’t wait to continue to work with her in the future.

Ciara is a kind, proactive and genuinely brilliant babysitter. She was recommended to me after helping my friend (which always bodes well) and we weren’t disappointed. When we first met, we trusted her completely and my 4 year old daughter immediately felt comfortable. She kept asking me when Ciara would be coming back to babysit and my 13 year old (who we thought would take issue to having a babysitter full- stop) was more than happy.
I worked as a nanny for many years and so I can really appreciate how much effort and hard work being a good childcare provider is and Ciara goes above and beyond. Thoughtful is an understatement- one evening while babysitting we received a message asking if we had spare salt and returned home to find she had made salt dough and set up a scene with the ‘elf on the shelf’ for the kids to find in the morning.
We asked her to be an extra set of hands at our wedding, which was the best decision. She perfectly gauged the situation and stepped in as and when was appropriate, diverted a few tantrums and kept our daughter entertained and happy without a fuss. She even took it upon herself to bring her camera and acted as photographer- knowing that we didn’t have one- and got the most wonderful pictures of our day.
Her experience and understanding of additional needs is a huge bonus whether you have neurodivergent children or not. Her demeanour is welcoming, warm, fun and knowledgeable. We couldn’t recommend her more. Thank you Ciara!

I’ve worked with Ciara multiple times and she never fails to astound me with her endless talents.
Her positivity, warmth, charm, endless energy, professionalism and above all
her ability to nurture and care for children in any setting.
She worked all day and night at my wedding and ensured my youngest (and my hardest) was taken care of so that I could enjoy my day without having a baby attached to me.
Best decision I ever made was to have her there on the day.
She goes above and beyond every time and is a real gem!

Ciara was a fantastic support for my 18-month old twin boys. She was always punctual, caring, warm, and proactive. She is a total pro, and knows exactly what she is doing. We couldn't recommend her more highly!

Ciara is lovely, dedicated and highly attentive. She’s been consistently helpful and is very professional in all regards. She spends time engaging my daughters in various activities and has been a blessing to know. She is punctual, pleasant and professional.
