About Me

I have been working with children for 22 years, working with both new born babies and children up to 10 years old.

I am looking for a new role from 2-4 days per week, within the local area.

Work Experience September 1996 – March 2002
Lodge Farm Nursery School - Chippenham
Nursery Assistant/Supervisor

• Whilst working as a nursery assistant my tasks included assisting in the needs of the pre-school children i.e. social skills, physical skills, artwork, reading, numeracy and mealtime sessions.
• As a supervisor my tasks were catering specifically for the three to four year old children. I had weekly meetings with nursery staff, dealing with the care of the children, Organising rotas of staff and work to be covered throughout the week. Planning the terms activities for social skills, physical skills, artwork reading and numeracy. I was in charge of three nursery assistants. Liaising with the parent s over the child’s needs.

Nanny August 2002 – September 2004
Kington St.Michael

• In sole charge of the care of 18 month old twin boys whilst the parents were at work. Light housekeeping duties were performed. I got them up in the mornings, provided them breakfast, cooked a mid-day meal and provided them with a light tea. During their day I regularly took them out to nurture their social skills. Daily outings would take the form of toddler sessions, the park, walks and soft play sessions. Free play with the children was an important part of the day’s rituals.

Snapdragons - Corsham

• Since working at Snapdragons I have been keyworker for up to 8 babies at any one time. Ranging from 5 months to 21 months. Day to day responsibilities include nappy changes, milk feeds and sleep times. Also social skills, physical skills, artwork and mealtime sessions. I keep learning journeys on all my keyworker children which involves weekly observations and reports 3 times a year, which are discussed and shown throughout the year and also at parents evenings.

Nanny June 2012 – September 2013
Batheaston

• In sole charge of 2 boys now aged 8 and 4 years old. Responsible for taking them to school, coordinating after school activities and liaising with teachers and nursery staff. At home helping with homework, overseeing with piano practice. Cooking nutritional meals for both boys and light housework including food shopping for the family. During school holidays suitable activities planned such as woodland walks, trips to Longleat and socialising with friends from school. Other activities like tennis camp and art school also attended during school holidays. Contract coming to an end due to youngest starting school in September.

Nanny September 2014 - Present

• Sole charge of 2 children aged 4 and 6 years old. Responsible for daily activities, school runs, laundry/cleaning etc. I was also responsible for planning and keeping up together with school schedules and keeping a well balance nutritional diet. I am now looking for work as the youngest is starting school in September so my hours will be changing then.
