About Me
My names Sophie I’m 20 living in Wiltshire. I am fun, outgoing and caring nanny and nursery practitioner who really just loves their job and watching children develop as they grow. I have a big family with lots and lots of children ranging from ages newborn all the way up to 16/17.I have always grown up surrounded by children and have always wanted to work within the childcare industry. I love to explore the outdoors and go on adventures as well as spend time with friends and family. My interests include sport and art. I hope to be able to join and become part of a new family.
My Experience
Ever since I was younger I have always wanted to work with children. I grew up in a little village just outside Melksham and when I became old enough I started babysitting around the age of 13. This included lots of different families with lots of different age ranges from newborn all the way up to 15 years olds. During secondary school on our TD days I would always offer to go and help out at my old primary school for the day mainly in the reception classroom. From there I went into collage and studied childcare aswell as health and social care. During this time I had to complete 350+ of work experience for each course. Which I decided to complete in a nursery as well as a primary school. This really gave me an insight into the industry I wanted to work in. As well as a chance for me to learn new skills and and really learn on the job. After this I then signed up to multiple nanny agencies where I then began ad-hoc and temporary work. I have been so lucky to work with a variety of families and have multiple different job roles within this. Many have been sole charge with the children where I would have to plan activities as well as complete all nursery duties. I have also done many after school mothers help type roles. Which would include pick-ups and drop-offs at school/nursery. Help around the house with laundry and keeping children areas tidy and would also involve preparing lunches and dinners. My previous role was caring for a newborn and 3.5 year old. I started when the baby was only 14 weeks old all the way to 10months. So I have been able to gain experience with newborns. The role included all nursery duties as well as planning activities and taking them both out on trips to soft play and the park etc. I currently work in a nursery specifically working in the baby room. I have been working there for a year and absolutely love it and have loved learning different skills within the nursery. I have gained lots of knowledge on a range of different activities.
