I am a dedicated and reliable person who is passionate about childcare and puts the children in my care first… their happiness and safety is my biggest priority. I consider myself to be very energetic and bubbly, characteristics which are essential when looking after little ones. I would absolutely love the opportunity to help out any families who are in need of childcare. I am happy to be around pets and I would also be more than happy to do housekeeping.
My Experience
I have lots of experience working in nurseries with children aged 0-5 years. During these jobs I have gained lots of experience with special needs children, learning that every childs needs are different and complex in their own way, understanding how to communicate with and help them and also working with professionals. I also did lots of volunteer work during my Level 3 course, in multiple nurseries and also in a primary school where I gained some experience with children from ages 5-11 years. My experience with this age range has since expanded through babysitting. The bulk of my experience has been within a baby room working with children ages 0-2 years, with my job role being things like changing nappies, feeding (bottles and baby led weaning), creating activities to keep them engaged and happy, and guiding them through big milestones such as first steps and first words. However I do also have a wide range of experience with older children through working in toddler and pre school rooms, with main focuses like potty/toilet training, helping them gain more independence through things like feeding themselves and self soothing, and eventually getting them ready for school.
My Qualifications
I am Level 3 qualified in early years education, I am fully first aid trained and I have an enhanced DBS disclosure.
My Availability
I have a full time job in a nursery so I am only available on evenings and weekends. I do not drive however I am willing to commute anywhere necessary.

My family are new to St Helens and therefore know no one. Our family are Australian so we have very little in the way of support. Drew came and met us and our 1 year old son and I was instantly at ease. She provided us with an up to date DBS and references. She has had our son for a few hours this evening, our son warmed to Drew instantly because of her outgoing and sensitive nature. I am quite a nervous parent and overprotective I suppose. He settled well with her and was asleep early on. Upon our return I was shocked and happy to find Drew had also tidied away our sons toys and also rinsed out his cup. I felt at ease with Drew and would definitely use her services again. Thank you for giving my husband and I our relationship time back! :)

Drew has babysat my twin 4 year old boys on two occasions this month. She has proven to be punctual, trustworthy and a good communicator. From her first visit my boys have felt comfortable with her. She eagerly took on small tasks I had asked for like giving the boys a bath, aswell as directing her on the type of play I needed for each child during her visit. I will be using her services on an ongoing basis 😁.

I FaceTimed drew night before I was due to go out she knew I had 4 children 2 with special needs as I thought perfect she’s got special needs experience as wrote on your profile she agreed with everything, the next day she texted me 3 hours before I was due to go out saying she couldn’t do it and wanted alot more money because my boys we’re special needs which was absolutely ridiculous I emotionally explained the night before I only work part time and struggling to make ends meet and I’m struggling mentally as I was a single mum to 4, she wrote that she couldn’t put her self in the position to get “hurt” so I had to find a other baby sitter in the space of 3 hours, thankfully I did. She shouldn’t be a child minder in my opinion if she asked for more money because of a disabled child considering she said she’s got special need’s experience, which I was told from her personally she has not. Will never ask drew ever again.

Most of this is untrue and been taken completely out of context. I love my job, and I am indeed experienced with complex needs. This job was just too far out of my comfort zone and too much pressure to put myself under; and the rate I was charging didn’t compensate for the work load. I expressed my deepest regrets to be letting this person down, and they told me they understood.
We knew drew from the nursery she worked in and having moved here and knowing noone we asked her to watch our two kids. She has always been punctual and very professional. We trusted her enough with her work life to give her full control and structure of the kids when in their company and we have had no issues. Even one night when the baby was sick she was brilliant. The day after when she left the oldest always told us stories of her playing and being lovely to them as well. If we weren't moving away she would be a continuing constant as she allowed us to have date nights without any worries. highly recommend
