About Me
Hello, My name is Sophie. I am a dedicated registered childminder, Located in Gunthorpe near Norwood Primary and Gunthorpe Primary School. I have a 10 year old daughter called Maisie, I have a son called Kai, who is 6, both who attend William Law C of E Primary School, We have our new addition born January 2021 called Amelia. My partner is called Dean who works as a HGV driver (so rarely home mon-fri). We have a 8year old dog called Olly, his breed is a cavapoo, so very friendly, small and loves people, he also knows his boundaries, and he is non-malting, anti-allergenic.
we love playing games, singing songs. We meet with other childminders, go on picnics, exploring in the woods, feed the ducks. We go to the library once a week. We like to go ferry meadows, stanwick lakes. Playing in the sand + water table, with different sensory items ie, foam, water beads, bubbles, jelly baff etc. Painting, gluing and colouring. And much more.
My Experience
Iv always wanted to work with children from being a young age. I used to babysit on a weekend when i was 16, (until i registered as a childminder) alongside babysitting i also held down a full-time job with other companies. I then registered as a childminder after having my first little girl and worked with another childminder together we cared for many children, all ages ranging from 10month-9years old, which i thoroughly enjoyed, but the childminder i worked with decided to stop, as childminding was not for her. I am now fully registered from my home. I have been registered since 2012. I originally lived in dogsthorpe, I took a 4year break from childminding, I then bought a house in gunthorpe, and now continuing with the role I enjoy.
My Qualifications
I believe that as a childminder all children should receive a fun, safe, educational experience from my setting. So to provide this I have various resources and equipment which also covers the 7 areas of development in line with the EYFS framework (these are suitable for each age group), along with the correct qualifications and the certificates displayed in my home, such as:
Registration Certificate
Me and my partner are fully DBS checked which you can see if you wish.
I have public liability insurance on my property.
I hold a clean driving license and hold business insurance which i am also happy to show on arrival.
I have been to many childminding courses and hold certificates such as,
Safeguarding children,
Paediatric First Aid,
Health and safety,
Food hygiene and safety
and more
Which you are welcome to view upon arrival.
My Availability
Monday - Friday 7.30am-5.30pm however i am flexible. please contact for more information.
I provide flexible availability, bank holidays, term time and school holidays. Please contact for more details.
