Hello dear parent, I'm Ruth and I have worked in the child care & education sector and children's entertainment for over 25 years. I’ve always enjoyed gently supporting children to develop and to grow, and to learn about the world around them. I am a mindful, competent and self-motivated individual, with a wealth of life experience, creativity and valuable skills to offer.
I look forward to working with new families, supporting your parenting and I can offer my expertise and guidance when required.
Working with your child is always a privilege for me which I never take for granted. Helping children to develop well, to to reach their full potential and to thrive really gives me so much pleasure. You only get one childhood and this is the foundation for the rest of their lives. I provide a calm, unhurried, peaceful and enabling space for your child and I promote creative, joyful and resilience building experiences.
I am a dedicated, flexible, resourceful and loyal individual who is used to a great deal of responsibility; at the same time I continue learning and I look forward to future opportunities for my personal development. A good teacher never stops learning! I have a fun and professional approach to my childcare practice and have a variety of personal interests. I enjoy gardening, nature, cooking and toy making.
My Experience
I began looking after and working with children in my mid-teens; including both childcare and professional face painting. I worked for a childcare agency for 12 years before becoming a private nanny and I have worked with some families for well over 11 years. More recently, I have begun a new journey in becoming a foster parent.
During my career I have been the early years lead in a school, ran a community parent & child group, I have provided respite for families with children with additional needs, been a nanny to 18mnth triplets, travelled with the families, worked within nurseries and baby units, organised and ran crèches, I have provided proxy parenting (overnight care) and worked with complete discretion with some high profile clients.
