Hello, my name is Hannah and I am a fully registered Childminder with Ofsted and a qualified primary School Teacher. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile.
I live with my husband Clive, our 9 year old son Matthew, 6 year old James and 2 year old daughter Ruby. We have lived in Harpenden since 2016
I realise how difficult it is to choose child care for your child/ren and have many years of supporting parents and children in this transition.
I aim to provide an extremely happy home from home and stimulating environment for all the children in my care so that they can develop and learn to their full potential. I will plan fun learning activities using the indoor and outdoor environments that match each child's needs and interests.
From my experience of working as a Nursery Nurse and Teacher, I pride myself in developing positive and trusting relationships with each family.

My Experience
I have thoroughly enjoyed all my years working with children. I have over 20 years of experience working with various ages of children. I was a Nanny for my two nieces since they were babies.
I worked as a Nursery Nurse at a local private primary school in the Nursery Class and then as the Kindergarten Leader. I was then very fortunate to be offered by the School Head teacher to train as a Teacher whilst teaching my own Nursery Class. Once I qualified as a Teacher I taught in the Reception Class for 4 years and 1 year in the Year One class.
After I had my son Matthew I decided to complete the childminding course and began child minding in 2014. I have thoroughly enjoyed looking after each child and developing close relationships with each family.
My Qualifications
BTEC and BA (hons) in Early Childhood Studies
Post Graduate Certificate in Education with Qualified Teacher Status
CYPOP5 Understand how to set up a home based childcare service
Paediatric Frist Aid Course
I am fully registered with OFSTED
I am also completing additional courses in Food Hygiene, Data protection and refreshing my Safeguarding Children training
I am a member of PACEY (Professional Association for childcare and early years)

My Fees
- Childminding from £9.00 per hour

Fees include all food and drink and entry to baby/child classes
I am willing to work additional hours for an extra charge.
I do not work Bank Holidays.
I am happy to drop and collect children from local preschools/ schools.

My son Noah was in Hannah's care for nearly 2 yrs and we were very sad to have to leave due to moving house. Noah was very happy there and we feel that as Hannah was previously a teacher she gave him such a brilliant start in learning, developing and growing. She was always reliable, encouraging, attentive and cared for Noah exactly how we do which was extremely important for us. Noah also grew a strong bond with Hannah's son Mathew and the other children she looked after. All in all an outstanding childminder who we all miss immensely!
Overall
We started with Hannah in July 2015 when we needed to move my 3 year old from her old childminder due to numbers. I was dreading the transition as, at age 3, my daughter was vey settled and happy in her old setting.
Hannah has been amazing in helping our daughter settle and right from day 1 they have clicked. They have a great mix of fun, such as bug hunts and soft play, along with educational elements when the younger ones are having a nap. For example they practice writing and paint butterflies to learn about symetry or play board games.
Hannah is very flexible where possible, doing shorter days and pick ups from pre-school to get the balance right, ready for our transition from childminder to nursery. Then doing full days in school holidays.
It is a great setting and my daughter is always sad to come home to boring Mum and Dad!
