My Summary
About Me
**Please contact me if you’d like to be added to my waiting list for 2025**
My name is Karyn Jayne Cuthbert. I am an Ofsted registered childminder graded Outstanding and live in Hadleigh, Suffolk. I have been childminding for the past 18 years and was awarded an "Outstanding" grade in my latest Ofsted inspection in September 2021. I am married to my husband Mick we have a son, Mackenzie who is 21, I also have a daughter, Tamara, 31, and two step sons Christopher, 32 and Mark, 31. Every member of our household has been DBS checked. The three eldest children now live away from home but do visit occasionally.
My aim is to provide a safe, stable, caring and stimulating environment for all children in my smoke and pet free home, with the emphasis being on learning through play and equal opportunity. Caring for children in my home setting providing care for a small number of children.
I have a wide range of indoor and outdoor toys, equipment and facilities for all ages and development stages. Daily activities will be varied and may include visits to local groups, village walks, etc. I used to run a drop in group for local childminders at Cherry Blossom children’s centre, fortnightly term time only (before COVID-19) which has now unfortunately closed due to being part of the nursery. Garden play, parks, nature walks, beach, local animal collections, Colchester zoo, Jimmy's Farm, Hollow Tree Farm and other local farm's, various indoor play centres. Indoor activities here include creative and imaginative play, messy play, cooking, music & movement, stories and quiet time.
I offer a bespoke baby bundle for babies 0-12 months this includes their own sleeping area, travel cot, bedding, wipes, nappy sacks, disposable gloves, organic snacks, advice on weaning & support if required.
Thank you for looking at my profile. If I can be of any further assistance please feel free to contact me.

I have been childminding for the past 17 years and served 2 years as the chair of the local Hadleigh Childminders Network Group from 2008 to 2010 & Vacancy Coordinator from 2011 and Chairperson until the group finished. This included planning and Fundraising on behalf of the group.
I have undertaken an Early Years Level three First Aid Training Course and have completed an approved childminder's training course run by Suffolk County Council. I am qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Children's Care, learning and Development. I have also developed a range of learning skills - please see my qualifications list below for further details.
Some recent comments from parents include:
"Thank you so much for everything you have done over the past couple of months. You have made this difficult time very easy for us and XXXXX will miss you. He has loved coming to you and talks about his fun filled days he has had. It'll be nice to show him the pictures when he is older of the days he had with you. Can't thank you enough!" (from a parent whose child's nursery closed during COVID lockdown and I provided care for 2 months)
"My 3.5 year old only has a few weeks left with Karyn as her childminder, and she is more than a little bit heartbroken - as am I! - she's been with her since she was 1. Karyn has a heart of gold, gets the kids out in the fresh air come rain or shine, and is the loveliest support to us mums and dads too, couldn't recommend her highly enough! I've even been doing a 40 minute round trip just to drop my toddler off at Karyn's once a week since moving from Hadleigh to Manningtree 9 months ago as I couldn't bear to end my girl's time there. She really adores her Karyn! So thank you Karyn, we LOVE you! (from a parent recommending on Hadleigh Noticeboard).
"Having already had a brood that had Childminder’s when they were younger many years ago, I can say hands down that Karyn is by far the best I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. XXXX absolutely loves her and I would not change her for anything. If you are lucky enough to get a spot, take it as you will never have a better person to look after your little one" (from a dad responding to a recommendation on Hadleigh Noticeboard).

Reviews
Below are the latest reviews for KJC. Please note that reviews represent the subjective opinions of other Childcare.co.uk users and not of Childcare.co.uk. Parents must carry out their own checks and references on childcare providers to ensure that they are completely happy before enaging in the use of their services.
Karyn is a wonderful Ofsted registered childminder. She provides an excellent level of care in her home setting. Karyn provides a fun, caring, clean and safe environment for children to develop socially, emotionally and intellectually. She is keen to take children 'out and about' to provide new experiences and adventures. She goes the extra mile for children under her care. My 2 year old daughter has gained so much from her time with Karyn and her cheerful husband Mick (assistant).
