About Me
My name is Rochelle Larkin, I childmind from my house close to the station in Brentwood. I have been child minding for 20 years, Tuesday-Thursday 8am-6pm. I have 2 fantastic assistants, my sister Nichola, who is also a mother of 2 and a forest school teacher, and my lovely friend Donna who is also a teaching assistant at a local primary school and has 2 grown up children.
I have 2 sons of my own aged 7 and 4.
I am fully registered with OFSTED and am extremely proud to have achieved Outstanding in my previous 5 OFSTED inspections.
We also have all relative insurance and strive to provide an environment which is safe, fun and loving.
We all have first aid and safe guarding training, as well as dbs checks.
I have a large four bedroom house, three bedrooms have cots in for sleep time. We also have a playroom for the children with a large range of toys and resourcs to keep the children entertained, as well as a safe and secure garden with toys for outside play.
We feel we offer a home from home environment where children feel part of our extended family. We appreciate that your child is very precious and that leaving them in sometimes a difficult thing to do, but we aim to help you feel at ease and as comfortable as you can.
My Experience
I have been child minding children of all ages for 20 years ,from newborns, right up to teenagers. I have experience with children with special needs and am always looking to learn new things. I provide a mixture of adult led activities such as music time, story time, painting and number and alphabet activities. But also feel it is important for children to have time for free play and to make their own choices.
We follow the "Jolly Phonics" letter sounds and actions which is a recognised pre school learning aid to help children understand the sounds of letters and words.
Although I look after children of all ages, I ensure all activities are planned with each individual child in mind, so that each child benefits from it. In my experience many children thrive from mixing with children of different ages, they have someone to look up to and someone to help show the way, something which they find rewarding.
I also lots of experience in potty training!!
My Qualifications
I have a level 3 diploma in childcare and education. I am an accredited child minder, which means I accept funding from the government for children aged 3 and above. I have an excellent knowledge of the early years foundation stage so am confident when providing learning opportunities for your child as well as letting them make their own choices with regards to play and which activities they wish to do.
I have also completed training on safeguarding children, special educational needs, food hygiene, 1st aid for babies and children and lots more.
As previously mentioned I have two assistants, one a forest school teacher and the other a teaching assistant. They bring a wealth of knowledge and many different ideas for fun, engaging activities for the children to enjoy.

My Fees
- Childminding from £7.50 per hour
£70 per day, 8am-6pm. I am happy to make exceptions for longer hours if required, which will be charged extra.
After school care and school holiday cover is also available.
