About Me
Hi, my name is Deb, mum to a 4 year old daughter & a registered childminder who has lived in Broxbourne for over 18 years. I have been childminding for 8 years.
I enjoy the outdoors, going running & cycling as much as I can, taking advantage of the rivers & parks in the area.
Cooking is one of my passions & I often randomly pick out & try new recipes from one of my many cookbooks. I love entertaining & enjoy spending time with & cooking for friends & family.
Linked to food.......... I am a keen gardener who has spent the last few years growing my own veggies, including Carrots, Onions, Tomatoes & Lettuces to name but a few. As all gardeners know I seem to be forever weeding!
I came into childminding after 13 years working in a managerial admin role & decided that I wanted to take the plunge & work with children. I spend as much time as possible with my family, godchildren & friends because for me, it's the perfect way to spend a day.
My Experience
I have been childminding for 8 years, over which time I have cared for children from 17 families, most of which I am still in frequent contact with. I have built very special bonds with the children I have cared for. Children & families are treated as extra members of my family, especially to my 4 year old daughter.
I follow the EYFS so all activities we undertake here are guided by this. We enjoy lots of time outdoors, in local parks, woods and open space. When home, the children enjoy a large array of toys and games, along with many arts & crafts activities.
I have always enjoyed working with children, this started when I spent a year in New York as a nanny to 4 American children who I still have contact with. This was invaluable experience in caring for children and more importantly, experience on looking after several children!
Whilst I was 'off duty' I would still spend most of my time with the family as I always had great fun being with the children.
My Qualifications
I have completed the CYPOP 5 - Introduction how to set up a home based childcare service.
I complete a Paediatric First Aid Course, every 3 years, likewise a Safeguarding course every 3 years. I have been awarded a 5* rating for Food Hygiene.
I continue to undertake training in many different areas relevant to childcare and child development.
I am planning on enrolling on the CACHE Level 3 - Diploma for the Children’s and Young People’s Workforce.

My fees include meals & snacks.
I offer a sibling discount.
I am more than happy to accept Childcare Vouchers & am registered with the Tax Free Childcare Scheme.
